    Beocom 2 MkI or MKII

If this is elsewhere my appologies but I couldn't find it

How do I tell what version a beocom 2 handset is ?

I now I can use the 9#9#9*INT option to get the production date etc but not sure how to tell a MKI from a MKII

Re: Beocom 2 MkI or MKII

I may be wrong but if you read here it says -

The release of BeoCom 2 in March 2002 was undertaken in its basic form. It was not a 'system' telephone in the first instance in that only one BeoCom 2 base could support one BeoCom 2 handset. This means there was no data exchange with other BeoCom2 handsets or BeoCom 6000 handsets or bases.

and then says - However, October 2002 saw BeoCom 2 become a full system DECT telephone, becoming part of the same 3-component solution that BeoCom 6000 uses. With this software update, customers can now 'mix and match' up to six BeoCom 6000 or BeoCom 2 handsets and chargers, using either the PSTN or ISDN base. This free software upgrade - to be carried out in dealers' showrooms - will be necessary on existing BeoCom 2 phones in order to make them fully functional as a system phone.

so at a guess i would imagine if you can get the production date its a MKII if its after Oct 2002.

Please dont take this info as true as im only guessing and im sure if its not someone will put me right.

    BTW welcome to beoworld.

BeoCom 2 MKII release was at the end of 2005. Just take a look at the picture below which shows the difference.

    Thanks Guys

So the pictures of the bottom of the phone suggests I have a MKI

However the 9#9#9*INT reveals thet the production date was 110706 is that posible if the MKII came out at the end of 2005 ?

By the way - is there a self help group for B&O addicts

I only started buying the stuff recently but can't stop - its just so cool !!!!

Sorry mate. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it. You have caught the Beovirus and it's uncurable.
The only thing you can do is learn to live with it and keep company with other sufferers.

    Hi,

I have a short question about this topic.

What are the fine distinctions between the old Beocom MK I and the new MK II versions?

     Thanks in advance!
