BS3000 - is it possible to upgrade it to DAB

    Hi All

I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the Tuner part in my BS3000 to Digital Radio rather than analogue? and if so how much it would cost?

     regards

Not possible I'm afraid. What you can do is plug a portable DAB radio into the AUX port and listen through the 3000 and speakers.

Or something like this will do the job http://www.inest.co.uk/products/DA-1_DAB_Receiver_-_Remote.asp there are a few diferent types on the market, I would imagine quality will vary slightly.

If you can, hunt down a DAB beocentre 2300???? Then you could swap the clamper, so it looks like a one of a kind BS3000! Big Smile Gee you'd have to be lucky to find one though hey

Best Buy in Denmark (bbuy.dk) got a beocenter 2300 DAB version for sale (about £700 I think), they had it last time I was in their physical shop (2 weeks ago), but it is rare, only 500 of them produced. I was actually tempted but got a 2hand ouverture instead.

    best regards

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to look at installing a proper outside aerial - seems the cheapest option.

    Thanks again

Re: BS3000 - is it possible to upgrade it to DAB

Its makes a big difference, I installed one in the loft a friend of mine thought the source was DAB when listening to my BS3200 via a BL3500 in the kitchen. Unless you need the additional stations the analogue tuner does a good job at presenting a clean and crisp signal.
