steph: Does BeoCenter2 read DVD-R or only CD-R ?
I know it reads DVD Video, Audio CD and Mp3 CD but can we burn our audio tracks in Mp3 format on a DVD-R and read it in the BeoCenter ?
It would be more interesting than on CD-R.
I tested the built-in DVD player on the new Beovision 7 and it was able to play all formats. I suppose that the DVD drive in the latest version of the Beocenter 2 is similar:
Here are the results:
DVD-R: OK. The disc was recorded on a DVD recorder and finalized (an absolute requirement). The menus generated by the DVD recorder (Sony) were perfectly displayed.
Home made Video CD (VCD) on a CD-R: OK
JPEG and MP3 files on a CD-RW: OK. The discs were recorded using the normal PC (Joliet) file format and finalized. There are options on the DVD player to display the titles and bitrates of MP3 files. JPEG pictures can even be rotated or played as a slide show.
Home made Super Video CD (SVCD) recorded on a CD-RW: OK . The resolution of this format is 480x480 pixels.
The TV has no problems with various aspect ratios. 4:3 material can be displayed in its native format and digitized movies with black bars can be displayed in 16:9.
DivX: not tested but confirmed to work. I will experiment when I will have the TV at home. There are many programs available on the web that produce DivX videos from various video file formats and some of them are quite buggy. So experimenting is essential in this case. In my case, i will convert movies taken with a digital camera (MPEG1) to DivX .
Best regards,
Jean
