maybe by a mistake you have put it in the Power link connection (8 pin) ??? Aux is the one with 7 pin. if the cable you use has 4 RCA plugs then remember two of them is output, and last remember to turn the volume to max on the Ipod. best regards

By B&O 9000, I take it you mean Beocenter 9000, and not BeoSound?

If it's Beocenter, then try the Tape port.

Re: conecting ipod to B&0 9000

That's completely unnecessary when we're talking about an iPod's headphones output as a source (or any kind of compressed music).

Don't forget that DIN plugs carry sounds both IN and OUT, it's possible the cable you've got is trying to output sound TO the iPod, rather than take it from the iPod IN to the BeoSound.

Also, make sure you're connecting to the A.Aux connection on the bottom of the unit (when the control panel is placed on the left).

Re: conecting ipod to B&0 9000

I´m agree about the sound from  MP3, no gold can rescue that kind of compression!  but I think we are agree about the fact that gold makes the best connektion and its better then silver or nikkel that DIN plugs normaly use . Look for exsample how black some DIN  pins with silver gets after a short  periode

In this point I think gold are a bonus . The price at the cable is still  to "normal" price..

Re: conecting ipod to B&0 9000

If you're talking about speaker level, then yes there is a difference IMO. For other kinds of cable, the only difference I can hear worth noting is the changes in the sound and drop of interference when good shielding is used.

I've done blind tests, and come to the conclusion that any differences in line level cables aren't really there.

It's like I swear I can here a difference between two CDs, both burned in exactly the same way with exactly the same content and exactly the same disc on my Mac. However, when I close my eyes, I realise there really is no difference whatsoever. It's a similar thing with cables, if you didn't know the 'improved' cable was there, I doubt you'd hear a difference.
