    Another connection question

I'm planning to use HITACHI Plasma TV's speakers (which are by the way surprisingly powerfull) as center channel speaker for surround sound.
I would need an adapter cable to run from BeoSystem 1's Center Channel output powerlink (8 pin) socket to TV's RCA inputs.
I've found 5 Pin to RCA adapter cable which I think have used in past for connecting to BeoGram Turntable.

Do you think 5 pin plug to RCA adapter will work with Powerlink socket?
Have anyone used TV's speakers as center channel?

    Thanks in advance

yes it should work. but not a good idea because you have to set the vol. to almost max on the TV. this results in a lot of noise in the speaker Erm

I see why it may not be such a great Idea. Oh well at least I can get it to work for time being with perhaps volume set to the middle.

Time for center channel speaker. I have noticed single Lab 4000 being sold on eBay once in a while. I don't particularly like it looks when used as center channel speaker but will sleep on this idea.

    Thank you

Just remembered a thing, go into sound setup and set speaker level as low as possible. to front and rear this will help a little with the noise in the TV..

I think the Beolink 3500 looks great as center, on real flat screens. does not sounds as good as bl4000 but have the looks.Smile (has to be the new model )

Actually I just bought BeoLab 3500 and waiting for it's arrival.
When you say new - you mean BL 3500 and not LSC 9000?
I love looks of 3500 as a center channel speaker however it's kind of waist of link system functionality which I was going to utilize Smile

No, there was an update which included PowerLink with the BeoLab 3500.

The LCS9000 is different again, much older.

The BL3500 and LCS9000 are identical except for the marketing and the manual. Neither has powerlink.

    Both had MCL and Masterlink

The latest BL3500 have facilities for Beolink Wireless

It is all explained in the FAQ section.

I stand corrected! I had it in my head that the 3500 was upgraded to include PowerLink and hence the ability to connect to a BeoLink wireless. I must be wrong then! Laughing

Theres a saying that goes something like -

The young are always keen to give their elders the benefit of their inexperience!

    Big Smile

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.
