I guess it depends on what you ask your dealer to put on it....but I may be wrong.

I really want one, but I hate the idea of a dealer being the only one who can customise it. Super Angry

    What's that all about?

B&O told us (when we where in Struer) that after some time the SW will be free on the internet, just like the beoport.....

    I really hope so. Party!!!

    back to my original Q.

What will it be like controlling SKY?

I mainly enter channel numbers to select channels (easy on a Beo4)

or up arrow + GO to select

or GO + 1 for program guide.

    how will the Beo5 work?

One of my dealers is having his training tomorrow.
Hope that means Beo5 is imminent.

    Hi

I mainly enter channel numbers to select channels (easy on a Beo4): you will also have number buttons on display

or up arrow + GO to select: this you cut call "channel up", you only have to push one button

or GO + 1 for program guide: and this would just be "guide" or "very slow loading menu" or "whats one tonight" or what you can think of, it's your choice Smile

Thanks, now for the software. I'd even install Windows on my Mac if i had to, to save going to my dealers every time I want to change something. Hope its released very soon.

I think the quip about the software was an ironic comment by B&O as Beoworld seems to get information rather more easily than Struer would actually like! I dare say we might get it but no promises!

Re: Beo5 and SKY, how will it work?

So if I can press an image of Sky News then how could that instruct my SKY+ box to turn to channel 501. Unless it uses macros 5, then 0, then 1. and if thats the case can the Beo5 be programmed with other macros? DVD, Lights level 5, sound 50 etc???? I'm doubting its going to do it.

    Sky news = DTV + 5 + 0 + 1

So i think it possible but not the sound bit... but we have to wait and see have long the macros can be..

Referring to the picture in the original post. How would it be possible to press the MTV image on the Beo5 and it select MTV on my SKY STB unless the Beo5 can send a sequence of numbers 3+4+0 (MTV=SKY Channel 340) . So can it?

I'm guessing I will have to press DTV then ask the Beo5 to display the number pad by pressing the "+" fixed button (see manual), then manually select 340

So the idea of fancy channel logo's on the Beo5 would only be for terrestrial channels only?Although I see on page 12 of the Beo5 manual that the image shows SKY "TV Guide". I wonder what will be displayed if one was to press this?

Re: Beo5 and SKY, how will it work?

Beo5 is programed so when you press the MTV LOGO it auto. sends the commands needed. in this case it will send DTV + 3 + 4 + 0 Automatic. it's not meant to have all your channels as LOGO's...
