Most played format? Lp, Cassete, Video, DVD, mp3, radio, HD or DAT?
I was wondering what are the most common format B&O owners use. For me its mostly good old vinyl. Based on the sound and no cd player plugged in the Beomaster 6000. I got a DAT machine too. Sometimes it gets played but rarely. Radio to boring so never long. Can't find a good TV channel to watch(mostly) so the VX7000 gets used but it depends on what I want to watch. As the Beocord 9000 works brilliantly and sounds really good I still got alot of tapes that could be better off in a better format but its a long job to convert them all and whats the use for the Beocord then? Since the pc now takes Dvds its a mixture of the LX5500 or the computer Sony LCD screen.

Radio first, then MP3, then vinyl and lastly CD. Hardly ever use tape now despite the 5500 and 9000 being ready and willing!

1. Lossless from Harddisk NAS server - available over network. 75%
2. CDs. But they are disappearing into the server at the pace I'm playing them.)
3. Vinyl (Like Andy below I'll add "climbing" here. About to move into listening room, where everything is set for music. Will rise then!)
4. Net radio

Re: Most played format? Lp, Cassete, Video, DVD, mp3, radio, HD or DAT?
• iTunes for background listening (running through the B&O system)
• Vinyl (for when I want to listen to music properly)
• CD (for when I don't have the album I want to listen to in good condition on vinyl)
• Simplify Media (for when I want to listen to an album I don't have, or just want to discover something new)
• Internet Radio

Re: Most played format? Lp, Cassete, Video, DVD, mp3, radio, HD or DAT?
Hi All, 1 Radio 2 Does Music DVD's count ? 3. CD's, but as my three year old son think it is incredably funny to take all cd out of their covers I end up with hiding them away... Im sure that I at some point will transfer all my cd's to to some sort of media server, but as i have an ouverture as audiomaster the beomedia and beoport solutions will not work for me so I am looking for an elegant solution to integrate a media pc (OR media streamer) into my system. 1: CD 2: Old fashioned analogue radio 3: Vinyl (would like to listen to more, but my MMC 20EN is on its way out, and I can't abide the Soundsmith black cartridge bodies) 4: Occasional cassette (great charity shop bargains)

Re: Most played format? Lp, Cassete, Video, DVD, mp3, radio, HD or DAT?
1. iPod and headphones when out and about or at work.(Not at home)
2. Vinyl (Was CD until I rediscovered B&O) 3. CD 4. Radio I used to think that CD was better than vinyl, I now realise my turntable was rubbish! I also spent years buying what I had on vinyl on CD, but after buying my Beocenter I am busy buying what I have on CD on vinyl! I have stopped downloading and listening to MP3's as it just wasn't the right thing
to do, I have started purging my iPod of music I haven't paid for.

- A.AUX with STB - CD & SD Equal (prefer CD sometimes) - Radio, but there is rarely anything decent on - Will begin listening to vinyl the second i have a turntable and a collection of records - Cassettes were dreadful IMHO

You need to hear a properly recorded cassette on a decent player - the Beocord 8002/4/9000 springs to mind. Or have a look here to see what you are missing in the portable department!

Re: Most played format? Lp, Cassete, Video, DVD, mp3, radio, HD or DAT?
It's not the sound, it's everything else about a cassette, rewinding and fast forwarding it, opening it's case and clunking it into the player, eargh!

Agreed. The Beocord 9000 have great noise reduction and a good recorded tape will be very cool for your enjoyment. What's wrong with the Beocord 8000?
