BeoSound 9000 - last CD Changer?

I can't believe this beauty will disappear from the latest B&O posters...

What do you mean? Nobody's said anything about the BS9000 disappearing.

I doubt B&O will be designing new CD changer. BS9000 may still be available for a while but I've heard B&O sales people push for sale of BeoSystem 2 with BeoMedia nowadays more than BS9000.

Wouldn't it be more than cool to have a BeoSound 9000 playing CDs / DVDs / Blue-Ray or HD-DVD?

Hm. Ok. We will never get it.

They couldn't without limiting the CD playback capability. DVD players take longer to recognise different kinds of discs, tend to be noisier, slower to respond, less reliable and don't perform to as high-standards as a CD player would with normal audio CDs.

Part of the beauty in the BeoSound 9000 for me, is it's simplicity, no extra frills other than what's needed and the original idea behind it as a 6-CD player which does a better job than any other on the market.

I wasn't pushed for a BC2, but was adviced to buy a BS9000; it arrived last week!

An absolute classic piece of B&O IMO. Would be very sad to see it go from the product range. There was a Ten Disc prototype built. Seem to remember a pictur of it somewhere. Was it the old Forum?

Totally agree Craig! This would have been the ultimate in B&O had it been feasible.

This photo still lurks on the B&O website somewhere.

    Wow, this is impressive!
But now I see that placement of this beauty may have been more complicated in terms of space required and ease of loading disks.

However I think it would fit perfectly above 50" plasma panel!

    Dear All:

The BS 9000 is a great piece.  I do not think the 10 would have allowed for the placement flexibility.  It would be nice it later had the ability to SACD.

Imagine SACD, gorgeous package, and digital out to say BL5.

There were also plans for other sound sources to be built in, but they never took them up.

I love the BeoSound as it is, and don't think they need to change it all, bar the inclusion of a DAB tuner, no matter how awful they sound.
