Anyone knows witch panel from Panasonic was

    used in the BV4-37?

If now the Beosystem 2 don´t have the vga-slot for PC/BM1 - I would like to

know if it´s possible to connect the Beomedia1 any other way than composite.

What do you think - is the picture of the BV4-37 as good as the one from BV5?

Tell me what you think - I´m not into HD yet......

When I had the BV5 I connected it via S-VHS to Scart RGB and it was pretty good picture

Note that BV4-37 never will be HD

Mr Anders(son) is correct about the BV4 37 being incablable of displaying true HD signals but the DVI slot can be fitted to accomodate BeoMedia with a resolution of 852 x 480.  I can not remember the price of the upgrade but as long as you have at least a MKII BS2 it will work.

Do you know if you can set the dvi-slot to PC in the connections menu after such an upgrade?

You will be able to use the Mk 1 BS2 as long as it has the software to tell the panel to switch to the second blade (the DVI card) which is essentially what the HD upgrade on the BS2 actually does. you would use a VGA to DVI-A cable but I don't recall the software allows for the PC to be set up as via DVI - you'll have to connect it as either STB (DVI) or V.AUX (DVI).

I attempted to sell my BV4 42"( non HD panle but HD upgrade to BS2 and NO ONE wanted it. I had the dealers offering £1500 for it but then changed their minds!

The 37" is even more bad news I ythink realistic value is the real worth of BS2 and I would put that at £1000 with 37 panel which no one will want

    >>What is a reasonable price for a used  BV4-37?<<

There is one on Ebay US right now at 2850$ and it is lingering there for a while with no takers. Livestyle AV has the BV4 42" non HD, that is a good comparison, depending on age I would think 3K or less should do itespecially if you buy from private without warranty. Personally, like everyone else it seems, I would stay away from it.

I would probably look at a used BV7 for that kind of money. Giving that the new model is around the corner, the existing line is sometimes discounted which puts pricing pressure on used ones.

355f and jk1002 - Thanks for your input.

The BV5 is too expensive for me, and as ...mr anders(son) says its

from 2002. I just wounder why there is no marked for used BV4 -37 & -42.

The picture quality of the BV5, with older panel, was pretty good. What´s

the difference from the picture from BV4-37????

    Re: BV4

The BV5 is an all-in-one product which makes it attractive for a BeoLink system. The BeoVision 4 requires external speakers which will drive the system price up. Having a 2002 BV5 in the bedroom is far more attractive than a BV4 to most customers. In stead of using the 4-37 as the main room tv, I would second the recommendation of buying a 2nd hand 7-32 (or 7-40). Here you can easily hook up an inexpensive projector for those special events (and it is easy to access with the BV7, press Format 0 and the TV will close the curtian and return to stby position while it will open the curtain on the VGA/projector output.

By the time you have added the cost of a cabinet (I would recommend the wide one to accomodate the BL7.1 as center) and a BL7.1 you will be fairly close to a new 7-series.

there is no difference in picture quality bv4- bv5. probelm is that 37" was not a popular size and of course its not HD( not that that is really an issue)

The biggest problem is that when these come onto the SH market one has to add the speakers, the B&O source, and this makes it all a very expsnsive SH buy. So most will say I can buy a pinoeer 42" hidef panel which is far far better for LESS money!

If you want to buy it fair enough the price I would say is £1100  no more
