The Summer Holiday in Struer is over - The 8-32 is approaching!

As they are dusting their desk's they are now confirming that the BV8-32 will be shipped to B1's and SiS during week 35. More stuff will follow shortly (Beo5, Serenata etc)... Smile

Why? Some people have asked for exactly this set. Certainly a different looking set, stands out from the me too black panels, and will work well in a Beolink system. Obviously one can get similar performance from a different brand for less but we have been here before!! If you have a Beolink system in the house then it is a reasonable choice.

In my neck of the woods the price at introduction is exactly £30 more than the asking price for the BV3-32 (back when it was on the market, of course). And the 8-32 actually adds two inches to the picture size. This alone tells me that this model will be a big seller!

But BV3-32 was offering the best picture in the world! I have doubts that BV8-32 will..or the sales of BV7-32 will drop dramatically.

Besides, BV3-32 came with a remote control...[:'(]

I included the price of the Beo4 in the above figure, but you are correct - the 8-32 can not match the black levels or the depth provided by the RF CRT on the 3-32... but, today, most have a digital feed where PAL will provide you with 576 lines. Depth is one thing (call me shallow Embarrassed), but resolution is quite important - especially since the screen is even bigger. And the design is clever and smart, the 3-32 was just too fat and arrived too late. The 8-32 is better timed, I hope.

That's right, but there are "recommended" remotes - see list in attachment

Upcoming BeoVision X prices will include the price for that remote

Oh no, that wouldn't be good news. How on earth would B&O flog an old single DVI-based BV7-32 and then an all-new BS3-based BV7-40 at the same time?!

That also mean that there would not be a new cheaper plastic remote.

The BS3 can be controlled fully with a Beo4, so I do not mean we can infer that the BV7-32 will not be BS3 based.

Agreed! The current BeoVision 7s in the UK perform very poorly when compared to other sets at the moment, the 32" really needs an update along with the 40"!

Agree - the choice of remote (Beo5 or BeoX) will be based on the what the user need (or want) more than the equipment itself. Some of the BeoVision 9 buyers will prefer the Beo4 or the new BeoX over the Beo5 - simply because they do not need sub-menu's to watch the nine'o-clock news. Any decent BeoWorlder will of course not be seen with anything less than the fancy Beo5 Big Smile

Re: The Summer Holiday in Struer is over - The 8-32 is approaching!

I wish they would release BeoVision 8 in the USA.  The design is cool, and the size is good for bedrooms, offices, kitchens, etc.

I, for one, don't like large screens much, at least in my home, and the smallest screen B&O has here now is 50".  (Until BeoVision 7-40 comes!)  32" would be perfect for my apartment.

    ...my two cents ~AJ

I will support the call for "small" B&O TV sets in the USA as many times as it comes up. Come on B&O give us at least one small set. Please.

     Also what is "BeoX?"

The new remote that takes simplicity to a new level will be launched in October - which most likely will be just in time for Xmas Big Smile

And could have been a major hit - had they only improved the numeric entering "system" with the Beo1.

And speaking of summer vacation - have you seen the view from David's summer house a few years back?
