Hi all....i've got a 9500 for a home in South america...since there is really not much service there.. I'm looking at buying a 9000 for parts in the future... is the laser and other parts in the 9500 and 9000 compatable??? to a large extent..

Very few of the electronics are plug in compatible and the CD mech is incompatible.

Because these systems were a continuous development, you are not sure what you have got until you open the box! Later versions of the 9500 will have some 9300 mechanical/electronic parts which are nothing at all like 9000 parts.
