    BeoMedia1 vs Apple TV

What are the pro's and contra's for both systems?

    Re: BeoMedia1 vs Apple TV

Apple TV: Only works with iTunes, limited to 160 gb drive (as opposed to 250gb in BM1), no fast scrolling from Beo4.

BeoMedia: Larger, x6 higher cost, incredibly limited video functionality, only works with BeoPort, functionality with Macs is pretty poor, difficult to set up, doesn't work with older sets, no ability to stream from a computer, no HD video playback, visually less appealing, only works on a B&O set, limited audio format playback.

That's all I could think of off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more things to consider...

Sounds like I will have to wait for BeoModia 2 (if there is one planning).  How about this?  http://www.tvix.co.kr/Eng/products/5100sh.aspx

BeoMedia 1 and ATV are designed for slightly different purposes.

If you want to watch movies/TV shows or listen to music in different zones throughout your house, and clean up the clutter of all those cases, the absolute sweetest system on the market is Kaleidescape.  Full quality playback, no compression. Metadata created by their team of experts as opposed to the publicly-edited Gracenote database. Beautiful interface. Fully expandable as your collection grows.  Not dependent on the OS of your home computer. And so much more!

...I'm lusting after one of those!  Smile

    ...my two cents ~AJ
