    Best non-B&O harddiscrecorder for 7-40 Mk3

    Hi all!

I need a little advice from you because I'm waiting for the new BV 7-40 Mk3 and want to buy a harddiscrecorder for it now. I know that DVD 2 is coming soon, but I'm not sure about the edit-facilities and that's why I'm going after ex. a Sony or Pioneer. Can anybody please help me to choose the best for my new 7-40? It's going to be in another room (aprox. 6 meter) and I would love to control it by the beo4/5.

    All the best!

    ;-) Jes

If you mean, the to be purchased hard disk recorder is going to be in another room about 6 metres away, the distance could give you some problems

    Regards Keith....

    Jes,

Don't have an answer for you, but I'm very excited to hear any solutions: thinking about the same as you. But I might be goiing to choose the DVD2 because of its upgrade-ability.

    Hi Keith!

I was told it shouldn't give any problems up til 10 meters cable. So I hope!!! I just want to find the best working non B&O-recorder together to the new BV 7-40.

    All the best

    Jes,

With what kind of cable you're going to connect it?

    A pioneer DVR-LX60D seems nice. In Holland it costs €799,- (HDR2: €1390,-).

    A philips DVDR7310H/31 (on which the DVD2 is based?) : €400,- (wil save €1000!).

Is the Mk3 the new BV-7?  If so, do write back and inform us of your experience.  In other words a review is kindly requested.

    Dario,

Yes, the MK3 40" is the newest BV7. But I believe he is waiting for it, and doesn't have it already....

    Hi.

Thanks a lot for your inputs. Pioneer DVR-LX60D looks fantastic. I have to study it some more including some of Sony's models. I guess the cable is going to be a HDMI.

And yes, Dario, MK3 means the new BV 7-40... but I don't know when it's out in the shops here in europe. I hope before christmas!

Are you thinking of the sony RDR-HXD 1070 ? In holland it costs about € 700,-

Peter told me non-B&O product can be operated via a lintronic converter: http://www.lintronic.dk/TT455-RT-238.htm .

    Hi Marcel!

Yep, I'm looking at this Sony too. But it's not for sale in Denmark yet, late august! I love the big harddisc it has!!!

Thanks for the link to Lintronic, but I'm afraid that I need to have a box at the BV 7-40. I'm going to find out how it works!

I actually use a Panasonic DMR-EH60D which has a digital tuner built in as well as analogue and has a large HDD, and a DVD-R - no HDMI or HD DVD though. It actually works to a large extent with the DVD controller sold by B&O.

    Peter,

You say: "DVD controller sold by B&O", which one is that? Don't you use lintronic?

Do you have (or anyone else) experience with the TT-IR-8087030 receiver?

B&O sell a clever SCART lead with a code converter built in which allows you to control some DVD players and recorders. They keep this very quiet!!! The list of products it is supposed to control is small and all out of date but some companies use the same codes for a lot of their products - Panasonic being one of them. I use the codes for a DMR-EH54D instead. The Lintroni8c device will allow you to map the codes fully and will be better - though more expensive. It can control a number of items though.
