    2 little MCL problems

    Dear all,
first of all: congratulations to the "new" forum ! Great !!

I bought a x-tra speakers kit (2047) with IR-transceiver for my BC9300, connected it to the mcl plugs and everything works fine. Then I did connect a x-tra TV kit to it to have access to the Audio/Video sources in my bedroom. Everything works fine too, BUT: When I switch on the lx2502 in my bedroom to listen to an Audio source, the x-tra passive speakers kit in the other room (children's room) is switched on too. No chance to mute it. Are there any option programmings I have forgotten or is it the wrong way to connect a x-tra TV kit after the x-tra speakers kit ?
Second (small) problem I have: Is it possible to watch a source, connected to the s-vhs socket ont the mainroom TV, in a linked room ?
Which buttons on a BL1000 I do have to press ?

    MX7000+VX5000+BC93000 in the main room
x-tra Passive Speakers kit (with transceiver) in the first linked room
LX2502+-tra TV kit (without transceiver) in the second linked room

Would be very kind if anyone could help me
    regards
    Alex
PS: Is there no chance to become a connaisseurs club member any longer ? I remember that there all the MCL user guides were listed.

    Dear Kevin,
thanks for the hint to become a silver or gold member. That's what I  was looking for. Now I upgraded my membership :-) and found all the instruction and user's manuals.

The problem with the malfunction of the x-tra Speakers kit is solved. One transceiver connector had a bad soldering. Resoldered... and LUCK !!

    Regards

    Alex

    - Select option 5 instead of option 6 (hardware option) by mounting
the jumper J1 in the MCL 2AV's microprocessor shield.
Stereo sound is automatically obtained when the VTR is switched on

purposes, e.g. playing radio in the central room or in another local
room while the stereo sound is being distributed.

If the TIMER function is required in the local room, the transceiver
    cannot be dispensed with.

If a tape recorder or a CD-player is connected to the MCL 2AV as a
local source, a transceiver is required to enable operation of the
tape recorder or the CD-Player in the central room.

    Dear Ignace,
thanks for your kind help. I've tried the programming you've described but with no luck.
It is not possible to switch to the S-VHS socket of the MX7000 (located in the main room) from the LX2502 in the linked room.
Sadly there is even no possibility to remote control the MX7000's main (setup) menu so that I could switch to the S-VHS socket manually.
The reason why I want to do this is to watch the films from the computer (connected to the MX7000 S-VHS socket) in my linked room.
But, as I said, sadly this will not work.
    regards
    Alex

    Dear all,

first aof all, THANKS for your kind help !!!

I have contacted B&O's customer service and to close this thread I want let you to know the "official" answer:

    (in german)

"Ich habe nun wieder mit einem Techniker gesprochen, und wir müssen sagen, dass Sie eine Scartverbindung verwenden um zu Linkräumen zu verteilen, d.h. Sie können dies nicht von der S-VHS Buchse tun.

    Mit freundlichen Grüßen
    Bang & Olufsen a/s
    "

Which means that it isn't possible to distribute the s-vhs signal through the beolink system.

Only the devices plugged to the scart sockets can be used in linked rooms.

Viewed from the technical side the answer is a bit sad for me but the B&O service center really cared for my inquiry in a very polite way.Yes

I'm proud to own B&O stuff Big Smile

    kind regards

    alex

    Re: 2 little MCL problems

Anyone that knows what might be the problem?:

I have had a xtra speakers kit to my 4500-system for a couple of month without any problem - until a few days ago.

After 10 to 12 hours the tranciever is dark and doesnt respond to button press or remote. When I disconnect/reconnect the power cords to the Beomaster 4500 all works fine again.

    Anyone with an idea?

I have a junction box for lengthen the MCL-cable at the attic, is that a problem no when the temperature drops below 0 (Celsius)? Is there someting else that can disturb the communication between relay box and the 4500? Is there any communication when the systems are i stand by? It is in stand by mode the problem has come so far. Maybe it is some component that ususally fails inte the relay box/tranciever which is easy to replace? Maybe someting in the BS4500?
    What do I now...? ;-)
