Stuck mute one one channel in Beomaster 6500?

I just got a Beomaster 6500 in the door. It plays well, but has a mute R-channel on Speaker 1.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

these have a mute relay on the speaker 1 output which are known to give trouble. The contacts can be carefully cleaned but if it´s too far gone the relay will need to be changed.

    cheers,

Thanks Kevin - I'll give it a look and see what I can do!

One of mine does this. I use Speaker 2 because I am bone idle!! Laughing

Yes. It's simple to work around not having MUTE, but also quite nice to be able to quickly dampen the sound when desired. I'll give it a look.

I had a dead mute channel on my Beomaster 5000 when I bought it. Some rapid flicking of the mute circuit on and off cured it, and it's been fine ever since. Have you tried doing this? No guarantees that it will work of course, but it seemed to do the trick on mine without any other interventions.

I have had exactly the same experience with my BM5000.
