It is plasma so picture will be better. I would choose a projector anyway. I don't like looking at the newsguy in 65 inch;)

The picture is ridiculous.  I think all the naysayers will be satiated once they see one in person!

You are the one selling the stuff in NY right?

    Hmmm.

    Your honest.

    Like that, thanks.

What would you sell instead of a 65 inch then? A beamer, a beosystem 3 with a third party screen?

What I really don't understand is the sound. You buy an 18k tv and you offer a 4k speakerset with it?

I have a bv7-40 mkv and a pair of beolabs 9 in front. This cost almost the same money but the sound will be a lot better. I am not impressed with the center going with it, altough I haven't heard it. It is a lot less powerfull then a 7-4.

Defintely go with a projector. VFM terms they wipe the floor with a tv.

Optoma have a really nice new model out for c £1k , the HD300 . It's amazing for the price .

For c. £5k you can get some jaw dropping stuff.

Well I think a projector for that small of a screen would be kind of pointless.  With the exception being some of the new LED Projectors on the market the bulbs need to be changed with some regularity and at what I consider to be a pretty big expense.  The projectors you'd be able to get from a B&O dealer are priced quite a bit higher than the BeoVision 12 so that's pretty much the solution in that size.  Some Samsung, Sharp and Sony screens are supported by B&O so that also might be a more cost effective solution.  Sharp has an 80" LCD for about $5,000USD right now!

And if by "selling the stuff in NY" you mean I work at a Bang & Olufsen shop yes I manage the store on 21st and Broadway Wink

I was not being disrespectful Alex, if I was I do apologize. But if you want to sell it but can't be behind it, I can imagine it being difficult.

I remember you being pretty harsh on someone taking a third party screen and a frame of B&O on it. I agree by the way but isn't this what will happen if the quality is not as good as in the past only the price?

I remember in the old days there was nothing as good as an Avant, now I am not so sure anymore.

    @Chucky @Alex

I think Chucky you refer to the following quote from Alex when you say he can't stand behind his product..."The picture is ridiculous.  I think all the naysayers will be satiated once they see one in person!".  If so, I believe you missed his meaning of the term "ridiculous" and Alex didn't catch it in his response.  In urban-cool American speak, ridiculous is very positive.  If not, my apologies.

Good point symmes. Ridiculous here means essentially outstanding or it is so good there is nothing better.

    Dude. It's awesome!

Hah!  Spot on ... I think we might have had a breakdown in vernacular here!

Chucky, the picture on the BV12 is VERY good.  My original post should have conveyed that in a more "universal" way!

Could I utilise the Beosystem 3 in my Beovision 7 to run the 12?

A Beovision 10-40 in black and red fret on order, Beo4, Beo6, many A8's, a pair of white and yellow Form 2's, Beocom 4, 28 inch Avant RF DVD, Apple TV and a wife that loves this stuff as much as i do!
