    Beocenter 2300

I'm thinking of buying a Beocenter 2300 to replace my CD 50. What common faults do I have to look for. How is it compared to my Beomaster 5500/CD 50. The one I might buy comes with a MCL2P amplifier.

I would check the doors open smoothly and evenly and close evenly and smoothly too. See it plugged in and working. Check it plays CDs of course and doesnt make any funny noises.

The cd sometimes just spins without playing. Is this a matter of cleaning or is the laser faulty? Has the laser on Beocenter 2300 got a bad reputation?

Doesn't anybody know if the laser might be faulty. Can I buy a working cd-unit somewhere? It's impossible to buy a cd-unit in Denmark unless you are a B&O licensed repairman.

Don't you think it's possible to get a refurbished one? But as mentioned before, I'm not sure the cd is faulty. The seller tells that the cd sometimes just spins around.

    Re: Beocenter 2300

Cd prob - is it from cold or when the unit has been in operation for some time?

If when cold could be the lubricant(?) is a little hard but softens when warmed up! - ie on the sled

Does it happen with the same disc or different ones - if cd specific could be the disc!

I always try to operate using/following the KISS principle --  Keep it simple stupid!
