Todays little project :) cleaning remote Beo4.

All remotes are collectors of all cind of nasty things. After a while they look pretty nasty. Maybe im pretty anal with my things, but I think that a remote often is really nasty.. So I disasemble them clean them and reasemble them.

When I was ready I realized I forgot to take pictures..

This takes about 10-15 min for a Beo4.

1 Remove back cover and take out the batteries

2 Remove the 4 screws, one is (was in mine) under a sticker.

3 Loosen the cover/ lift the backcover (it almost falls apart

    4 Loosen the 6 nuts

5 Now you can remove the front with the buttons. The cicuit board and display is another part. I cleaned the buttons and frontcover with warm water and soft deturgent, then I dried it with a soft cloth.

Assemble everything the same way. And the remote looks like new :)

I clean mine with a bathroom or kitchen wipe and it works well, you need to remember that you shouldn't leave the batteries out for long as it may drop the ir codes to work!

I did not know that.. Thx! :)

I tried to clean it with cloths, but there where too much between and under the buttins so it did not get clean with a cloth..

cotton buds r ur only man!

they do get a bit grubby if  u dont keep on top of the cleaning....esp the Beo4 in my kitchen....

just be very careful cleaning beo6...if any dirt betwwn the glass screen and unit, dont stick things in the little gap like i did...cos then my screen glass detached and it cost me 300 euro to replace!

    just be careful:)

Yep! Thats the way to do it.

Sit on the bog and clean a Beo4 with a wet-wipe. Press nice and hard and squeeze those buttons down to loosen the grime away from the nooks and crannies.

Allow to self-dry and before you know-it....
