BeoSound 5 Encore - Airplay in the future?
Airplay is on the new BeoLit12. Does anyone here think that feature will ever be added to the BeoSound 5 Encore in the next revision?

I don't think they can just make a software update for exsisting units. They have to pay a license fee to Apple for every unit they use airplay in. Who should pay for the allready sold Encores?

Why buying Encore for at lot of money? Connect AirPort Express to your Beolabs and use your iPhone/iPad/PC instead.

One can just buy an apple tv or airport express and run that on aux.

Doesn't Airplay need some additional hardware?
The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

Re: BeoSound 5 Encore - Airplay in the future?
I agree. I just don't get it. I have Mac full of lossless music, and the ability to download radio stations all connected through Apple tv. I mute the screen and hey presto.
A Beovision 10-40 in black and red fret on order, Beo4, Beo6, many A8's, a pair of white and yellow Form 2's, Beocom 4, 28 inch Avant RF DVD, Apple TV and a wife that loves this stuff as much as i do!

I would not buy it now either. But I already have ha Beosound 5 and when I do I think it would be good if it was possible to use Airplay.
And also when you connect Airplay to the tv will still count hours...

I guess you could attach an airport express and the Behringer analog/USB converter to BeoMaster5 and run that through AAUX to get Airplay.

Re: BeoSound 5 Encore - Airplay in the future?
This is exactly what I'm doing. AirportExpress to AUX on BS3000 which is part of my link system. Works with AirPlay to each link room, access to Spotify, TuneIn and all music stored on any computer in my network. Investment was 100 Euro. You need of course a wireless network in your home. For iPhone and iPad AirPlay is a standard feature for my PC I use AirFoil, a software that works very good and costs 25 USD.
