Re: Is lifstyle Av. Secure To buy on line?
jarnim:
If I had the money, I would have gotten the BV7-55, but look at the price and compare it to recent (well received) LCD's by Samsung...
Now this year there are interesting developments, just look at the 55' OLED that LG presented.
A check on www.avforums.com will show the problems being encountered with the top models of LCD TVs from Samsung,Sony, and LG.
Additionally,as far as I am aware,Samsung do not market a full backlit LED TV.
Sony, and LG,have had problems with their full backlit models.
So,a BV7-55 may well be the only quality option.
As for OLED,it remains to be seen if the problem of non uniform ageing of the RGB colours has been solved.

Pepso,
Find out the 'Type No.' of the television. Then, with the type number, go into the Main Site on Beoworld site or beocentral.com site, find the tv model eg. BV5 or BV9 your looking for, and there you will see which Type No. = Mk of the television.

Pepso,
Sorry I forgot to say - find the Type No. on the label on the back of the tv cabinet.

I never bothered checking the milage on mine, so I'm afraid I don't know how to. I think you have to enter som kind of service menu.

Pepso, I'm not sure if it will be 100% the same for BV9, but here is how you access 'service counter' on a BV5 tv - I'm guessing it is probably the same, or very similar process :
Put TV to 'Stand-By'
Press 'TV' on Beo4
Press 'MENU' then select 'SET UP'
Press 'GO'
then press '0', '0', GO quickly (press zero twice and then GO quickly)
This then gives you access to the service counters of the TV, you can see how many hours TV has been in use so far, how many times TV has been switched on/off so far etc...etc.
How many years can BV9 be used..? Again, I'm not sure about the BV9's screen - all I know is what Lee has told me previously regarding BV5 and that is that the panasonic screens used in BV5's were expected to have a life expectancy of 'at least 60,000 hours'.
My BV5 is now in it's 9th year and has just passed the 10,000 hour mark. This is considered a 'low to medium' usage tv and i'm hoping it will go on and on for many more years/hours. Thus far it's perfect, without a single scratch or blemish and still looking like it came out of the factory (in DENMARK of course ) just yesterday
The only TV I would swop it for would be a BV9 in fact

Michael
