    CX100 center speaker mounting

Hi, i'm needing to mount the CX100 center speaker in a surround sound set up....my tv is a big LCD...not the super flat ones (like a plasma)..it's got some depth...though brand new....the problem is... no depth to set the center speaker on the TV...so i'm thinking of mounting it on the wall behind the TV... it would look better on the TV...but is it "sonically" OK to have the center speaker kind of back from the other front speakers??

    Thanks,

    Re: CX100 center speaker mounting

As long as you configure your surround sound processor accordingly. It should have an option to set 'speaker distances', which will delay the sound from a speaker which is nearer to you, meaning each speaker's sound arrives at the same time - supposedly!

When you say mount the speaker behind the TV, you don't literally mean firing into the back of the TV? You should always try and have direct line of sight with each of the speakers.

Hi Alex....thanks for the reply......yes, on the wall behind the TV, though above it firing at directly at the couch....

Any idea if the A/V 7000 has these optional settings to control the distance of each speaker???

    Thanks,
    K

Not sure if the AV7000 has the option or not, but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't. You can still get a very good sound even if the distance of each speaker is different, although only up to a certain point. How much further away is the centre speaker from the main speakers?
