Calling other peoples opinions as "numbskulls" etc is your right I guess, but it is a bit rich if you have read things out of context.
I agree completely. However, there are those who seem to have an inability to express opinions without insulting others
Nor stick their nose in and try and wind people up like the above, Razlaw. Like I said before, you're an interesting bloke, for a lawyer. Impartial? Nope.
All I said was insults are not appropriate. I was unaware that responding to a post, in fact agreeing with another post, was sticking ones nose in anything.

iNuke Boom Speaker
Maybe the Beoplay 12 is not priced high enough. This does not look like it has super quality materials or design but they are asking $30,000 for it?

It sounds exceptionally good! If I remember right from the Conference in September, we were all blown away by the audio and build quality.
We will be retailing at £650...

Decent review in Stuff..... also Beolit 12 is a first page click through feature on the "best of CES" email that I got today - decent bit of PR for the item & the brand.

well, this is not what I was expecting from the product launch...its as attractive as a car battery. I hate it. I certainly wont be adding it to my collection anytime soon.
its a nod to the iPod generation, where sheer quantity takes priority over quality. Dont get me wrong, I love my ipod/iphone and I love that some of my music, even though its compressed, is portable and I can listen when walking...
but Im just not sure where this Beolit 12 fits in?? the shed? the back seat of the car?? its portable yes, but you would need pretty big pockets to carry that around when out for a walk.
For me, it has little aestetic appeal - though i acknowledge one's aestetic appreciation is a personal matter. However, I do wish it well and im sure it will be appreciated by many enthusiasts - Im just not one of them!!!! When I look at my BeoSound 9000 I see art, design, beauty.....

And tell me if I'm wrong : if no Bluetooth, what is the meaning of carrying it. Airplay needs the home wifi network, so it's useless to take it with you out of the house, unless you use a cable to plug your iDevice.
... and the design is not of my taste. I hope that the low cost TV will be better looking.

I don't know what I dislike more, the Beolit or Tue's "presentation".
He's pretty stiff. Get a PR guy to be the front. If you have to have one.

:( I got carried away in my enthusiasm ... I had pondered on the issue of how they would handle people wanting to register more than 1 network ... I know more than one couple who have two homes (his and hers) and a shared beach house = at least 3 networks
But it is a pity my car idea fell flat on its face
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Tod Daniel: I looked at the designer's portfolio of work and didn't like what I saw.
Well it´s a matter of taste. Her design are very scandinavian. I like the Essay table among other things.
Tod Daniel: AND I thought PLAY was supposed to be cheap!!! This is practically as expensive as Bang&Olufsen - I dont get it!!!
Cheap? I don´t think but cheaper compared to what we are used to. Play is probably not for "BeoNerds" like many as us. One of the reasons I like the idea of Play. Play can make products that are different from the main brand.
It´s not magic - it´s Bang & Olufsen

I totally agree with Paul. It's so expensive and definately not 'from the heart' purchase. I looked at the designer's portfolio of work and didn't like what I saw. There are thousands of young, creative types out there, i'm sure someone could have done a nice design. Ar well. AND I thought PLAY was supposed to be cheap!!! This is practically as expensive as Bang&Olufsen - I dont get it!!!
And yes sub brands - Even Dolce&Gabbana have stopped D&G to concentrate on their ONE brand which is Dolce&Gabbana which is Made in Italy in their very own factory with their own staff ensuring TOP QUALITY!!! Their shirts and suits are the most amazing quality!!!
A poster by another name would still sound the same....

Rumour has it (a store person) that the BeoLit 12 will be available in Australia in 2 weeks (bet its 3) for AU$900 versus the BeoSound 8 which is AU$1,500.
Any confirmations m8s ?

There seems to be the understanding here that you need your Wifi network in order to stream music to the BeoLit 12.
That is only the case if you want to stream your iTunes music from your PC/Mac to the BeoLit.
You can however wirelessly stream directly from your iPhone/iPad to the Beolit without using your home wifi..
The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.
