beovision 7-40 moved rooms and now will not turn on

    Hi

i am new to this forum, I have just moved my BeoVision 7-40 Mk2 from one room to another. Having plugged all of the cables back in and turned it on nothing happened. I have a little red light bottom right. it does not blink when the remote is pressed, i have tried the usual things - turning off and on again, leaving it for several hours in each state before trying again. pressing TV and not DTV. The DVD loader works.

I am at a complete loss, any help greatfully received

    Hi Rob

    Welcome to BeoWorld.

First question, do you have an external box such as Sky or Virgin+ connected? If you have you will likely have a thin cable with an inra red emitter stuck to the front of the box and the other end plugged into the back of the TV.

It is possible that you have plugged the jack plug into the wrong socket, the sypmtoons would fit that. If you have the STBc emitter plugged in anywhere, remove it and see if the TV works. If it does, you just need to check the inside of the cable cover panel to see where the jack plug should be placed.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards

Thank you so much, that has fixed my problem, I had the IR plugged in to the 'in' not one of the 'out' plugs.

I cannot tell you how much searching the internet I have done and calling dealers and speacialists.

    Thank you

Glad to be able  to help. Smile It's a mistake you only make once and I can imagine your frustration. At least this one didn't cost you anything to fix.

I would like to learn here on the forum: So please tell me, why the TV does not start up when just a PUC cable is mis-connected...

    Regards Elmar

Hi there if you have a IR plugged into the IN it disables the tv's built in IR.

I learned this years ago when my projector screen used to get in the way of the sensor.
