    BeoSound 9000 SW Version

Anyone know of a simple way to determine what SW version of my BeoSound 9000 Mk III?

Alternately, what is the latest SW version for the BS 9000?  Last I noted searching through the forums was 3.3, possibly 3.4!

Didn't notice it anywhere on the site or in the forums, but is there a listing anywhere in regards to the additions/fixes that the software updates address?

    Hiller

BeoVision 4-50 MkII, BeoSystem 1, Zektor Switch, DTS box, BeoLink Passive, BeoVox Cona, BeoLab 1, BeoLab 3500, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 4000, BeoLab 4, BeoLab 3000, BeoMedia 1, BeoMaster 5, BeoSystem 3 Type 9621

    Re: BeoSound 9000 SW Version

Nice, any key difference between 3.3 & 3.4?

Is it easy to upgrade to 3.4?

    Is it worth it?

    Thanks

    Re: BeoSound 9000 SW Version

Upgrading to Software Version 3.4 provides the following functionality

    • PIN code active from factory
    • Option 5 and 6 introduced. Option 5 is to be used if there are two IR eyes in the same Link room; e.g. BeoSound 9000 and BeoVision 6-26.
    • Option 6 is to be used, if there is one IR eye in the Link room.

NOTE: There must always be Power Link speakers connected to an audio product when using option 5 and 6.

    The following problems were resolved:-

    • Timer play not executed if a Standby timer has been activated.
    • When listening to N.MUSIC in both Main Room via BS9000 and Link Room (Beoport), and standby button is selected from the Link Room, then the BS9000 also goes into standby.
    • Red button for genre does not work when N.MUSIC is playing on BS9000 MK III type 2571. Other coloured buttons work OK.
    • Automatic option (PL plug on/off) does not work from option 1 to 0.

The Beosound 9000 software is updated by replacing a chip in location 3IC1
To order the software it has a part Number of 8344070

However, unless you have one of the above issues, I would not update the software.

    Regards Keith....

You could do the update yourself.

The spare part price will vary from dealer to dealer but some dealers will not sell just the chip. Where they do, then expect to pay between US$20 - $40

    Regards Keith....

Thanks for your answer Keith Smile

20-40 US$ doesn't sound much. Is there a manual with the upgrade chip ?
