    Gain on BM6500/7000 Aux out?

    Hey everyone,

I'm preparing to build a diy amplifier, and will be using my beomaster 6500 as the preamp, and connecting the Aux out to the power amplifier.  Can anyone tell me though if there's any gain on the Aux out, or at full volume are you merely getting full line level?  And is the powerlink output gain (or lack of) the same as the Aux out, just with the addition of the display/link connections?

    Thanks as always,

    Austin

Why wouldn't you use just the powerlink connections as B&O does? Not sure, but isn't the powerlink level higher then the Aux. Higher levels, less distortion caused by surroundings

AUX out in BM6500/7000 is a fixed line level output. I don`t think you can use it for power amps.

You can use Powerlink outputs - it`s even possible to poer up your amps using 5V voltage on PIN4.

Or disconnect the plug of your BM that combines pre- and poweramp. It`s a preamp out - poweramp in plug.

Thanks guys.  Stefan the 5v turn on would be a nice touch, but since these are class A they need to warm up for a bit before I you'll get the best sound out of them, though I have yet to find out how audbile the difference actually is...
