Thanks ! THe BV12 looks something between a Grundig with the Tube beneath and a touch Panasonic, somehow.

    Re: BeoVision 12-65

I realise that I am expressing a personal opinion here and it's all down to personal taste, but why would anyone want to view such a beautiful TV setup and at the same time have to stare at shelving below loaded with books and papers on top of which are scattered various pieces of 'objet d'art'? A TV is not a framed painting looked at in passing, it's something which has to be sat in front of and watched for extended periods of time. Why include such distractions?

If you want books, art pieces etc, then display them on another wall.

The more serious question  (according to my wife) is what do men wear under their kilt?

Finaly a proper pic! Well I linked to this pic weeks ago Smile

    Have a look here http://www.hifi4all.dk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=46053&PN=1&TPN=172

The pic of the speaker reveals a detailed look. I think it looks great and not ordinary at all. Information is in danish but genuine.

    Re: BeoVision 12-65

Well, in my opinion, the TV looks dull... The speaker looks like an exact copy of a LG flat panel speaker my friend had circa 2006, and yes, Grundig comes to mind.

I'm sure it's performance over looks, but I can't *see* much of "B&O" in this TV. Maybe I'll revise my option after seeing it in the shop. As for the speakers, I'm undecided: are they too wide, too "all aluminium", or do they look stunning when seen in the flesh, and not in a photo.

    KMA

Current setup: BeoVision 10-46 (grey speaker cover, AR, motorized stand) with Apple TV 2 (FireCore), Sony BDP-S780, Mac Mini, BeoLab 11 (silver), Beo5, BeoSound 8 (red speaker covers). Accessories: A8 Earphones, wine bottle coasters.

B&O product history, in chronological order since 1990, after the onset of the treaded BeoVirus (I tend to upgrade/change my setup "infrequently"): BeoSystem 2500 (with blue speaker covers), BeoLink 5000, BeoSystem 7000 (complete; silver/black), BeoLink 7000, RedLine 60.2, BeoVox Penta, BeoVision MX4000 (black, motorized floor stand), BeoCord VX5000 (black), BeoSystem 4500 (complete), BeoCenter 9500, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoVision Avant (original, 28" AR, VHS, green), BeoCenter 2300, BeoVision 3-32 (grey speaker frame, AR, motorised cabinet), DVD1 (grey), BeoCord V8000 (grey), Beo4, BeoSound Ouverture (w/ floor cabinet stand), BeoVision Avant RF (grey, 32", AR, VHS), BeoSound 9000, BeoCenter AV5 (blue), BeoVision 1 (yellow, motorized floor stand), Beo1, BeoSound Century (yellow), BeoCenter 1 (blue, AR, motorized floor stand), BeoSound 1 (silver, floor stand), BeoVision Avant RF DVD (grey, 32", AR), BeoVision 7-32 MkI (AR, motorized floor stand), BeoLab 3 (black), BeoSound 2, BeoVision 10-40 (grey speaker cover, AR, motorized stand).

Yeah I have to agree with Mr Winn on this one.

I also love the way it's in the rooom and part of it, with shelves and books etc. I'm not a fab of a TV on a wall being the focus, the books and shelves help the overall look n comfort of the room when any tv is turned off. Smile

    Re: BeoVision 12-65

The pic isn´t the best to show the details in David Lewis design. Have a closer look at some of the details like the curved alu speaker and the alu frame behind the big class front or even the perforated speaker made by 5000 elleptical shaped holes and you will see beauty lies in the detail.

The screen is extremely thin. Builds only 50 mm from the wall at the top.

At the bottom it´s 60 mm due to the speaker grill.

    Beofan2:
the perforated speaker made by 5000 elleptical shaped holes

WOW!!! That's impressive... Now I must admit I want to know the use of such a thing... Or is it just :

B&O sound engineer : "the sound will be perfect with this stuff and 500 holes in it"

B&O designer : "looks like something already done by Grundig"

B&O production guy  : "I've seen a one-of-a-kind tool that costs $100M and that can drill elliptical holes, that would make a difference"

B&O sound engineer "elliptical holes would have no effect on sound quality, for me it's OK"

B&O designer : "That seem to be the kind of details that differentiate B&O from the crowd... When looking at the product with a microscope! Let's drill 5000 of them!"

Tue : "Hi, I'm your New CEO, what are you doing there? [...] GULP!"

    mbee: That was funny :)

I think that the BV12-65 is really good looking screen but it might take some time to get used to BeoLab 12 design.

There are rumors about smaller BeoLab 12-2, does anyone have a picture of them?

very funny LOL Laughing Laughing Laughing

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

The price will be in the region of the 7-55 (with speaker and floor stand). The 12-65 may be very thin, but you will need the book shelf to hide the BS3 Big Smile

The price that is in the region of the 7-55, does that include the Beosystem 3 or just the screen?

    Beovision 7-55 with Beolab 7-4, 9s and 4000s

    Beovision 10-40 with Beolab 1s and 6000s

    Beosound 1, 5, 2000, and 3000

we need a slim line BS4 or one with shiny covers as an option !

I wish B&O would apply the multi-cover and/or multi-colour options to more of their product lines

    Re: BeoVision 12-65

I heard there is a new Beosystem 4 in development.  It has 10,000 elliptical holes in the aluminum case for ventilation so the thickness is reduced to less than 50 mm.  It will also have a sub woofer built in to minimize clutter.  You will be able photograph a color sample and send it wirelessly to the intelligent aluminum cover.  The system will then create a chameleon skin for itself to match.  All connections to the Beovision 12 and Beolab 12 speakers will be by Bluetooth 4.0 Wink
