I will do some trials with these speakers, it disturbes me that I have to wait for spareparts, of course I would love to have everything as close to original as posible and will continue to do it whereever posible, but to investigate what is posible with what I can get locally I will try this.
Here the original croosover with the 2 loose coils
Caps from left to right: 5 MF/100V 20%, 12/25 20%, 75/35 20%, 25/35 20%, 75/35 20%, resistors: wirewound 1Ohm/3W, 3,3/3W
I glued the 2 coils with hotglue gun.
As it is very difficault to get these sizes, I bought whatever I could get fast from Mouser.
Here is what I got, left to right: 4,7MF/100V 20%, 12/100 (radial) 20%, 75/50 -10%/+75%, 25/50 -10%/+75%, 75/100 -10%/+75%
Tomorrow I will connect the driver, assamble the speaker and try it out, and check the diff. to the other speaker with the org. croosover. after the test, if the refurbed crossover sounds Ok or better than the original, I will refurb the original with the Steren items and test again.
And tomorrow morning I will buy, here on the corner, by Steren what I can get:
4.7MF/100V, 10MF+2.2MF/63V, 22+3.3/63, 47+33/63, the paired caps will be fitted in parallel, opinions please.

Dear members read and learn.
Martin just saved my butt, reading the values on my crossover caps I saw all caps marked with + and a bar on the minus end, what I did not realize, because I'm a stupid ignorant SOB, is that all croosovers has bipolar caps because its AC current going to them, please spread the word and keep an eye on beginner "dummies" like me.
I checked the web for bipolar caps in the values I need, its there but very expensive, new caps for my 3702 from like Solen will cost me more than I paid for the speakers, I'm now waiting for the caps from Martin, meantime I will start with the cabinets and the frets.
BTW, Martin has not posted lately, and it seams like we are getting few answers from the old guard with high postings, its a server problem for all members with over 2000 post, I hope someone will do something about it, without the experts on the forum it will loose members, slowly I get there myself.

Evan: Hey Søren, ever heard of Meniscus Audio? They specialize in only parts for speakers. They are pretty fast with getting the order shipped and are no hassle.
www.meniscusaudio.com
I've bought a lot of things from Meniscus in my days, from drivers and fully-built crossovers to fret/grill cloth, damping material (they have like 5 types), spikes, Solen caps, hookup wire, terminal cups.....
I met Mark, the owner, way back in 1987. He does one thing. He sells speaker parts.

As I'm stuck with the croosovers I did one Box, first cleaned it throughly with acetone, then sanded by hand with 150 grain paper and a rubber handpad, thereafter with Scotch Brite maroon handpad, its some 220 grain but never run full of dust and gives a finer finish as sandpaper.
And then thanks to Rich and his M70 hurricane design speakers, and Richs mother who recommended English oil, so Rich please give my deep felt thank you to your mother .
What a beautiful woodgrain
Top view even better

Here the back side. the milling iron I use is old, and as I work with mainly steel and aluminium, of course I had to try it on aluminium, not good, if you buy tools buy quality, thats why the the cuts around the hole with the cross got a little burned, I know, I know its ugly.

Finished the hard work of sanding and fitting exactly into the box, I went looking in the schack, I found a kind of oil that will protect the wood from aging, worms, mildew, cancer and bad breath for 200 years, I will put some on my face tomorrow. Done

When I saw how the fabric and the old fret wood looked, I realized that someone had gone crazy with a can of mate Black paint, and also painted the fine looking aluminum frame, so back to the boxes, cleaned the frame with acetone, in the pic you cen see a rest of black paint in the red circle, and as Jacques is scrutinizing my work this pic extra high res. , a joke Jacques, I appreciate your comments. I'm now waiting for parts and fabric. Tomorrow on to the BM 4000. Working in my garage I came to think of how much I mis music there, I will put my BM 900 and the S45s there when the BM 4000 and these speakers are running, you may start to call me Rich.

Hi Rich
The boards are 1/4" triply, I hope it does not warp, these frets has no pegs or nothing to hold them, I think they were originally glued to the frame, I want to make it with pegs, you did something with your pegs, what was it ?

From "Beovox M70 Rescue & Adoption" thread:
The top two pegs on both fret frames were broken off. Using a pin vise I
have in my hobby supplies bin from my days of modelling Warhammer
armies, I drilled holes where each peg was misssing. I superglued short
lengths of snipped paper clips into these holes. Then in turn I
superglued 3/4" lengths of 1/8" diameter wooden dowel onto the paper
clip.

The final result looked like this. Half a year later, the pegs still work just fine.
Once you get the cloth on the fret board, the fit may be tight enough such that you don't need pegs or any other method to fasten the frets to the cabinet. That's the case with my second pair of M70s out in the garage.

Thank you Rich found your thread, will wait for fabric and try the fit.

Got the fabric, so here goes.
Glued the fabric to the first fret with a combination of Rich and Leslie system, but here how I made the 2nd one
Tools needed: Glue, pair of scissors, wheel fabric cutter (fabric selector's), hobby knife, rum and coke with ice.
And the fabric, as the fabric had some wrinkles, I put a blanket under it and as my wife (hereafter called FS (fabric selector)) is not at home I found her tool for ironing, and ironed the fabric. If anyone tells the FS that I can iron, I will be lost for the forum as I then will have to use my free time ironing.

After ironing the fabric I took some time planning the next steps, enjoying at the same time my Cuba, the frets are ready, the fabric ready, glue ready, cutters ready.
I stretched with my hands the fabric over the blanket, the fabric kind of got a little stretch as it attached a little to the blanket, I then sprayed the front of the wood frame with the spray glue, let the glue dry for some 4-5 min. and then pressed the wood frame to the fabric, cut the fabric some 30 Mm. from the wood frame, looks like this
Took it to the garage and sprayed the wood offsets, let dry a little, and then starting at the front at the middle of each side, with my thumps pulled the fabric to the back and into the glue.

Then with the "back side" of the scissors I pressed the fabric into the frame offset, and was ready to cut, the fabric wheel cutter is the best invention since the hot water, it cuts fabric exactly vhere you want it to cut, and sometimes wheres you dont want it, so I cut the the over standing fabric in the inside corner of the frame offset, and then just peeled of the fabric.
Cutting done 2 sides

Here the finished result, the spray glue I used was a lot faster and easier to work with, than double sided tape as Leslie use it, the first fret I did with spray glue only on the front, and tape to the back side, but it is more time consuming and the tape I used didn't work as good as the spray glue. now waiting for the croosover parts from Martin, he shipped middle of December, but Xmas and Mex costums is delaying.
The pic do not show the real color (Maroon)

The frets fits exactly into the box, and instead of making some pegs to fit it, I will glue it with double sided tape at 6 small points, after assambling and tests.
Thanks the Gods its Friday, tomorrow onto the BM 4000.

Did the fabric selector select this fabric?
I hope the real color ist not that "pink-y"
Gunther
And good luck with your BM4000-progress
