    I found an MX3000...

I found an unwanted MX3000 television in Red. Someone left it on a sidewalk. When I turn it on it it shows no picture so obviously the bulb or whatever needs replacement. Would you fix it even though it's 20 years old? It's from 1989 and still looks striking...

Well, they sell for 20 - 25 Euro fully working these days....

So, I would not bother to repair.
Even though I don't like this "broken - throw it away"-attidute but in this case....

You could get another one and move the red back panel from the one you got to the new one!

Thanks Ralf I suppose it's not worth fixing then. Too bad. Still a great looking television.

It's not going to be worth the expense unfortunately.

If you want an MX, there are always lots of fully working ones going for next to nothing on ebay.

hey my friend says he will give me his fully working mx4000 in white and i can change it from white to red! I'm glad i kept the red one! I almost threw it away. I love the old B&O tv's especially the triangle one i think it's the AV9000 CAN'T REMEMBER....

That's great if you like the red Smile

Good result in any case - the 3000 isn't completely B&O inside, and the 4000 can be up to 15 years younger!

The rear cover is easy to swap, just one screw in each corner and you can carefully pull it off. You might need to disassemble the rear cover into two pieces and swap the parts between them as well. I seem to recall the middle (black) part is slightly different in the older models. However, the coloured part should be exactly the same.
