Hi Mika/everyone. Good to be back.
I'm ok thanks. Life got rather complicated as my marriage broke down and I didn't have anywhere permanent to live. Finally I'm renting a place, and things are more settled. My B&O has started to be unpacked from all the boxes stored in my mum's loft, and it's great to have it around me again :)
I've started studying again (a degree in Design and Innovation) and am currently looking for work. I'm applying for jobs pretty much everywhere - a move back to Moscow, Malta or maybe somewhere new is on the cards :)
The best part of it all is that Natasha and I are still friends. Now the arguing has stopped I feel much better about everything else. :)
Back to business, then. A set of 5000's have been at the top of my list for a long time. I used to have a set of passive 3000's with my 4500 system, and I loved the looks, and the sound was pretty impressive too... As you all know 5000's usually go for much more than this. The damage is a pain, but I'll get a good look at it (and post some pics) when they arrive. Plus, if an undamaged 5000 comes up for sale...
I'm hoping to pair them with something like a Beocenter 2300 in the short term, though later I'd like to get a Beosound 9000 (simply because they look so good). As much as I love the looks of the Beosystem 4500, I'm not going to use a cassette deck, and the 9000 takes up less space, and offers more eye candy. I have a Beogram 4200 that will go nicely with the 90000 (RIAA is not a problem) though I'd like to swap this for a 4000 later (though both 6000 and an 8002 appeal to me...) We'll see what comes along.
For the meantime I have my Beocenter 7700/CDX/CX50's doing good work in the living room, and my 900K/Beogram 1000 in my office - it's not so bad :)
