Nice... empty the room.... calibrate... refill the room... raise the roof!

Congrats to the 5's, best money I've ever spent on speakers puts a smile on my face every single day, even if they are not playing music

    Have fun!

    @Robert @Stephan

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for your replies.

So, you guessed what I meant with "I want to believe" or is it the B&O box in my pic?

As you advise it to me Stephan, you think I should empty the room and calibrate the bl5?

    Re: I want to believe...

As I recieved mine I was at first a little disappointed of the relative small bass output but after a few test calibration runs I received the best results as I cleared the entire room and did the calibration.

I came from a 4x BL8000 plus BL2 setup where the bass was overpresent and I had to adjust my sense of bass to the performance of the 5's. They simply play music as it is recorded and if there is less bass the output has less bass, simple as that.

Try some calibration setups and find out what suits your needs/favour... I even went to the extreme and measured them outside ( infinite room = maximal bass ) but that was way too much :-)

Here are some personal music tips for you, maybe you have something of it in your collection:

Robert Manos " Mombasa " from Angel Road ( MASSIVE bass )

Nils Lofgren " Keith don't go " from Acoustic Live ( excellent for High & Mids )

Foo Fighters " Over and Out " from In your Honor Disc 2 ( Overall very good recording )

Hans Zimmer " Inception Soundtrack " ( great Soundtrack and lots of dynamics )

Tori Amos " Reign in Blood " from Strange little Girls

The Eagles " Hotel California " from Hell freezes over ( You will smile when the drums kick in ... promised! )

    Best regards

    Stephan

    Hi Stephan,

    Thanks for your answer.

I don't have these records but only the "Inception Soundtrack"...

But have some kind of nice recordings to do the test, as the American Beauty soundtrack that is very well recorded.

I'll try what you advise me and tell you.

    Cheers,

    Sweet As !

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    EdouardG,

    Congratulations!

...But... don't follow B&O's in room positioning instructions because these speakers need to be placed far away from walls as much as it is allowed to you. Only then, you'll know the real bl5!!

    Thanks Maab!

I understand what you mean, but in my case, I cannot place them further from the wall or I think my wife will definitely think about divorce, as she thinks my BL5 are monsters that don't have their place at home...Sad

That's why, to make her being used to them, I decided (firstly) to make the BL5 to be as discret as possible...

My wife and I will get a new house next year, and for sure, I will let the BL5 breathe!!!

Do you have pics of your set-up?

    Cheers and BL5 jailbreak
