    few beosound 3 q's

    - can you use it as a clock (clock is viewable and you can check it in the middle of night without pressing any keys)?
    - can you use it a timer?

Yes, The Beosound 3 will display the clock permanently in standby, as long as it is plugged into the mains.

Yes for timer too. You can download the user guide on the Beoworld website, search under products for BS3

well, it is a wonderful radio and mp3 player, if you take it as background sound. Well... actually it is much better than normal low-end computer speakers if you do not mind its mono sound.

i recommend it to all of you.

may i add also a question: how does it indicate that the battery is fully charged? mine always shows the red light permanently on.

    Thanks, Marcus

i red that you can't store timing function. you have to activate timer again and again. does it remember at least previous wake-up time?

well, it does not show a full-charge state. Just leave it attached for 3 hours, we assume it has been fully recharged.

usually, we assume this is a machine to be used in indoor only. So AC supply is never a problem. So full-recharge or not is not that important.

unfortunately i have no power outlet where i use my BS3, so charging is an issue. It is a shame, that B&O doesn't have integrated this essential feature - it would have cost nothing, only some lines of code in the sw.....

    Re: few beosound 3 q's

well, i understand why you feel disappointed. we all get used to this feature. I mean we have adapted to this feature. It is too common for all products with rechargable battery.

On the other hand, if we have to discuss whether it is essential. Then it depends on what's your need.

I guess when we have 3 to 4 hours to get bs3 plug to AC power, then we can assume it is fully recharged. If your time is less than 3 hours, no matter there is indicator or not, it is not fully recharged. If there is around 4 hours, we are sure it is fully recharged, no matter there is indicator or not. In this view point, we cannot see any benefits of the full-charged state indicator.
