compatibility between Beocom2/beocom 5 system and a new Beocom 2 unit

    Hi there,

can anyone tell me if there is a compatibility issue between a beoline2/beocom 5 and a new Beocom 2 unit I just bought but cannot register. When I try to register the new Beocom 2, it does find the base number, but then it fails to registerand gives me a REGISTRATION FAILED message.I then  tried several beocom 2 units in shop  in case the unit itself that i bought was damaged, and some of these units said  REGISTRATION NOT POSSIBLE. I think there may be a compatibility issue but the shop here in Dublin is not aware of any issue.

Both the Kitchen and bathroom have Beolab3500's. BeoCom 2 and BeoCom 5 phones. Beo 6 and Beo4 remotes. LATEST ADDITION: Beogram 7000 with MMC2 stylus....

    Hi Paul,

Did you try to unsynchronize the beocom5 before synchronizing your new beocom2 with the Beoline2?

If you didn't, unsynchronize the Beocom5 with the beoline2, and then synchronize your new beocom2 with the base.

If it works, now you can add the beocom5 to the beoline2.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

Hi, was your bc2's software upgraded to work wit bc5 ? Try turn off the beoline's power then remove the bc5 from the system. Plug the bl back in and see if your bc2 is registering.

Re: compatibility between Beocom2/beocom 5 system and a new Beocom 2 unit

well, it was a combination solution....first the beocom2 needed a software update, happily supplied by my local dealer here in Dublin, then it was a matter of unregisterig the Beocom5's from the beolink2 and then registering the Beocom 2 first to the Beolink2, then re-registering the Beocom5's back onto the Beolink2. its now working a dream, all phones fully functional with the added beauty of the Beocom2 in my living room sitting happily near my beoLab5'.

thanks for all your help guys, its much appreciated....
