    Powerlink "Y" 's....

I've got the 2 back speakers (8000's) that are being used as rear speakers in a home theatre set up.....

Do I have to run 2 separate Powerlink (8 wire).....runs from the A/V7000 to the back......OR.....can I make 1 Powerlink cable to the rear of the room and then add a "Y" there and to each 8000 speaker...???

    Thanks,

355f, just to be clear....we're talking R and L...both coming off the same powerlink from the main unit...then putting a "Y" after the first (R) speaker and running that on to the (L) rear speaker?????

     Thanks, K

Every powerlink lead carries right and left information. You can use splitters as much as you like and you will still get right and left info. That's why the R and L switches are in the speakers.

    hey again guys...

so...is there a physical switch on the speaker..??? or is it hardwired internally to only pick up the correct pin config. off the Powerlink??

ALSO...this is for the REAR channel of the A/V 7000 surround sound processor.....!!!

    thanks,  k

Yes it has a Physical switch: Right, Left and Line. I think A/V 7000 only has Pro logic so the Rear plays mono normally, and only stereo in speaker 4...

Get the long Y powerlink 1,6m then it doesn't have to sit at the back of speaker (order n. 6270705)

The Y-adaptor would be an absolute no-go for me, in combination with a bl8000, unless I could hide it. There could be coming a (beautiful) rubber snake, coming out of the back of this speaker.

Just solder, (or let somebody do it for you,) 2 powerlink-leads to 1 plug. Another option is using one lead for each speaker.

    Hi Andy,

I live in the US part time and in SA part time...so everything goes to Miami and then it gets air freighted to Colombia.... It's time consuming and expesive...so you really have to think things out completely before moving...

    Greetings from Colombia....

What are the chances of meeting a Colombian here. I was born in Colombia, but have lived in the USA all my life. Good luck with the project.

Hey beo-ap,  Great!! What city?? I'm in Cali and Medellin....though the US now. We're doing a BS9000 connected to an A/V7000 on to Pentas and 8000's with a CX100 center speaker....then doing active and passive links throught. It's a learning experience..for sure..

    Do you travel back often?
