    BL3500 and BM5500

Could I connect the BM5500 to a BL3500 speaker via the MCL connector ?

    Thanks

    Yes, you can..

However, the Beolab 3500 by default are switched to Masterlink as the MCL was only marketed by B&O in the early days when it was called an LCS9000 and set to default for MCL.

The Masterlink and MCL in the Beolab 3500 cannot be enabled at the same time, it's one or the other.

I will answer your next question before you ask it..

QUESTION -- How do I switch a Beolab 3500 from Masterlink to MCL (Master Control Link) and back again ?

ANSWER -- To use the MCL if the unit is currently set to Masterlink you need to enable it via a service menu command. To get into the service menu to switch between ML & MCL press MENU then MENU then 0 then 2 then PLAY, then use the up arrow to switch, then STORE.

The Beolab 3500 must receive the IR command from your remote control.

    Re: BL3500 and BM5500

    Keith,

    I tried but not successful...

    - the BL3500 has a 8 pins connector but the BM has 7pin. I use a cable 1/1 (center pin not connected).

    - Should I program the BL3500 with any OPTION? (or OPTION is only active for ML?)

    Thanks for your help!

The Master Control Link (MCL) does not come out of a 7 pin din connector on the Beomaster 5500, it comes out of the "Speaker 2" sockets"

To connect the Beolab 3500 MCL to the "Speaker 2" sockets you need an cable as shown

    Re: BL3500 and BM5500

    Keith,

Thanks for the answer. At this moment the email server is out of order that's why you can not answer on my email.

Ok for the connection but what about the pinout:

    From BM:

    Top left to pin 6

    Middle (bigest) 7+3+5

    Bottom R pin 4 and bottom L pin 1

    Right?

What about the Option? 4 it's ok?
