    Amazing stuff

Today I saw a picture of the new plasma 65" with a couple of new Beolab wall mounted.

Guys, it's really amazing! I love it!

please feel free to share with us...... Description (or a picture Smile) would be nice. What kind of speaker was underneath it?

Just because it's mellow it doesn't mean it's less evil....

    Re: Amazing stuff

Was it BL 12-3? I just read a description of it.  wide as BL8002, tall as BV10-40 and deep as BV10. Lens in top of speaker or you can choose to reverse the speaker and the lens will be in buttom. Alu front. Price tag 2100 euro. Launch very soon.

I saw a picture of the plasma 65" with the two speakers wall mounted. Yes it was the Beolab 12. They will sell in a week or so.

The shape of the speakers is amazing with the acoustic lenses in the bottom. Also he plasma (the dealers said to me that they will launch it in march) was incredible with an integrated speaker. Really cool.

Bang olufsen is going in the right direction IMHO.

First blurry sketch of bl 12-3 together with a short description in spanish can be seen on the site of a dealer in alicante:

    http://www.bangolufsenalicante.com/novedad/beolab-12-3/00010/

According to german dealer Karpa&Müller in Leipzig price for 12-3 is EUR 2.090,- incl. tax + EUR 30,- for the wall bracket (as usual per piece).

Maybe - stand isn't correct, and it just looks more rectangular than that - proabaly just the way it is drawn.

    Re: Amazing stuff

If the BV12 price is in the area as BV7-55 what will happen to this concept?

Is it an alu frame like BV4 or is it more like BV7?

    Re: Amazing stuff

Another dealer confirmed to me the price tag of the beovision 12 (16/17k euros). The same dealer confirmed to me that the sound of the new beolit is great. Moreover he expressed some concern about the price tag of the beovision 11 (I saw a different name something like s35, but I don't remember) because it's too low... He said that in the mind of the customers the beovision 10 is the new mx... And beovision 7 is the new avant... And now? the beovision 12 with a so aggressive price tag (with the speaker!) can cannibalize the 7 55".

    What do u think?!

Sorry for my terrible English! :)

    Re: Amazing stuff

The prices will be based on the new philosophy by B&O, taking us back to the glory days of CRT when the Avant was twice the price of the other premium products. And the MX was just a little bit more expensive than the competition. The BeoVision 8 series was simply to expensive to sell in any numbers for what it was (seen as), while the BV10 turned out to be easier to sell. The new entry level will sell for approx 15.000 DKK (32") and 20.000 DKK (40").

The BeoVision 7 is a high-end concept that truly comes to life when you integrate it in a semi-BeoLiving-setup with two center speakers, motorised projector screen and simply press a button to start the show: TV rotates parallell to the wall as the curtains close, curtains on the projector screen opens up as the lights dims with the help of the built-in cinema control functions etc. The BeoVision 7 is so much more than just a TV with the best TV speaker in the world.

The new 65" will be roughly the same price, comes with a tube speaker under the screen and can only be wall mounted. If you want the same features as with the BV7, then the BV4-85 is the product to go for.

Think of the new 65" as a big BV10 when it comes to features - it is not a BV7 or a BV4.

The BV12-65 is a BIG wallmounted TV, but with a slick "picture frame" design with an avant garde tube speaker underneath. The new speakers with the shiny wavy metal fronts will fit this concept rather well. Must be seen in the flesh.

    Re: Amazing stuff

First of all don´t be sorry for your english! English isn´t my native langue too and I understand You perfect. Thank´s too You and Roger for sharing these informations I hope I will be able to share some information too.

BV12 seems to be very interesting and as I have already written must be my next dream TV. I hope it will be slim like BV10, I like the idea of a big wall mounted TV. BL12 seems to be the perfect match for BV12.  Can You please tell me about the frame. I´m very curios about the design.

BV8 was too expensive from the beginning. A lot went wrong sreensizes, features etc but I always liked the design idea. I´m looking forward to BV11 or what the name is.

    Re: Amazing stuff

Imagine if they had just made a 32 inch version of the Beovision 26 thus negating the nead for the 8 in the first place. At least it would have looked like a B&O tv should. And HDMI inputs as per the rest of the planet!

A Beovision 10-40 in black and red fret on order, Beo4, Beo6, many A8's, a pair of white and yellow Form 2's, Beocom 4, 28 inch Avant RF DVD, Apple TV and a wife that loves this stuff as much as i do!

    Re: Amazing stuff

@koning: Which is why I wrote it the way I did. People go around looking at shiny super thin glas LED LCD TVs at other stores, enter the B&O store and look at the casual looking BV8 and then at the shiny BV10. The BV8 doesn´t look expensive enough for them.

But, I do prefer the BV8-40 over the 10-40. Picture is the same, but the sound does it for me. The 8-40 was such a complete package, but it was dressed in jeans compared to black-tie-BV10. And the BV8 lost sales on the catwalk (read: showroom) due to the smashing looking competition from the BV10.

We really are living in a strange parallel Beouniverse when dealers are moaning about a £2000 television being 'too cheap'. When i first thought about buying a Beovision new an MX was £1000 and a Sony was about £500. Now we're saying that it will be amazing and possibly damaging to the rest of the range if a television is released that is only five times the price of a Sony 32 inch LCD?

But, I do prefer the BV8-40 over the 10-40.

One big BV8 problem for me is keeping it clean in a kitchen. Cook a few steaks etc and, after a few months, it has a fine layer of grease on the screen which is nigh-on impossible to remove. Easy from the BV7, iMac, MacBook Pro etc as they have glass screens.

    Is the BV10 like the BV8 and doesn't have a glass cover/front?
