how to connect beosystem av 9000 with beolab 200?

    Hello,

since a year i'm the owner of the beosystem av 9000 with a masterpannel, it's an old television witch works fine.

I was wondering, is it possible to connect those systems with masterlink?

On the rear side of my television there is on masterlink connection, i've used it for my masterpannel.

    Hopefully you'll help my.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Probably you mean a Beolab 2000 link speaker (200 is a Penta amp).

I guess you could use a masterlink distribution box ( two options, check this thread) but I'm not sure if it will work for this specific AV9000 TV surround set.

Some of us managed to connect the MCPAV9000 to an Avant using masterlink. I think you can give it a try or maybe I will with my own set!

Will work. Just add a junction box and install a ML cable to your linkroom.

I had this constellation in my earlier setup.

    Set BL2000 to L.OPT 6.

If it is a second generation  AV9000 - yes!

First generation AV 9000s used a 16 pin ML cable.

They have to be modified to become compatible to a
    standard 9 pin ML cabling.

1: The 4 digit Type # will tell the version at the time of delivery ...
(but might already been modified  to the new version 2 by a previous owner)

2: If you examine the ML Plug of the cable you're using:

if all 16 wires are differently colour coded
        - you're using the fully mounted  ML cable >> version 1

if 9 wires are differently colour coded and 7 in the mittle section of the ML plug are grey
        - you're using the standard 9 pin ML cable >> version 2

3: If you are NOT using a Master Panel (eg a BSd Ouverture / 3000 / 9000/ ...) connected to
the AV 9000 - as far as I know, this config is only possible when AV9000 is version 2
(named on the label "AV9000 Beo4" or "AV9000 IT")

Strange. Worked great with my 2way AV9000 Type 43XX. Masterlinked with MPAV9000 and later BS7000....

Linkrooms connected with BL2000, BL3500, MX4000 (BL video).

    MK1 is 2way Type 43XX, MK2 1way Type 79XX. An upgrade kit was available.

Yes - if the ML sockets of a 1st gen. BeoVision 9000 / MP AV9000 have been modified.

(internal connection between 2 pins of the ML socket necessary to use a 9pin
ML cable between AV 9000 and MP AV9000 instead of the bulky 16 pin ML)

Pin 4 is not conneced in the 9-wire ML, therefore Pin 4 and Pin 12 have to be
connected internally (sockets) of a 43XX AV 9000 / MP AV 9000 combo if a standard
    9-wire ML is used.

Not sure, but as far as I remember 2-way was also available on early 2nd gen. (Beo 4) types.
