My Beogram 4002 does not seem to advance with the record as it nears the end of the album. It starts to skip at the last or second to last song. The problem is intermittent. There is no set pont where this becomes a problem. Some albums play through. Any ideas? 

Clean and lubricate the threaded carriage shaft.

Any suggestions at to what lubricant works well?

I have started using an all-synthetic oil for this with good results.
It doesn't evaporate or dry and it's available on the US Ebay.
Liquid bearing, I think.
