    Favorite David Lewis design

What´s your favorite David Lewis design? To me theres so many but among my favorite ones are BeoLab 5, BeoCom 2 and BeoSound 9000 all pieces of art in your living room. But I also like BeoVision 1, it´s like a sculpture and BeoVision 5 which from my point of view redefined how flat TV´s should be designed.

David Lewis work for ASUS is great too. I really like the nx90 laptop.

I´m looking forward to see what will now be the last new products from David Lewis. Hope some of them launch soon.

    It´s not magic - it´s Bang & Olufsen

    1. BEOLAB 6000

    2. OUVERTURE

    3. BEOSOUND 8

    4. BV10

My all time favourite is the BeoSystem 5000/5500/6500 but is that Jacob's design? Im not sure.  I also love the CX50 lil speakers as they are cute! I guess at the time, the Avant was awesome but it looks silly now with LCD and soon OLED technology!

BS9000 for me too (very closely followed by the BL5's).

The last true "classic" from B&O for my mind. The BL5's are classics to many people but I've yet to meet anyone who isn't impressed by the BS9000. This can't be said for the design of the BL5's - they are a bit Marmite to many.

    To me:

Ouverture + Beolab 8000...this combo made me fall in love with B&O when I was 13....then I told to myself, one day I'll have this music system...

I remember what I felt as if it was yesterday.

Not my idea of a B&O TV, but exactly what a B&O advert should be like in my book. Form and function, not form, more form and marketing rubbish.

BS9000 and BeoVision 5 in my opinion.

Obviously BV10 and BV9's are descendants of the BeoVision 5, the BV5 was the design - classic B&O Smile

Oh my gosh, I forgot the Beo4!!!! The nicest remote ever because i use it without having to even look at it  but I do like looking at it!!! I love it.

I must be one of the few who didn't like the BS9000  just too big for me  (when compared to my iPod ;)

It is definitely the greatest CD changer ever - but I never understood the need for a CD changer. Highest possible points to Mr. Lewis for thinking out of the box though!

I think I'll pick the Beolab 8000. I never thought I'd get a pair, but I have one now, and they have really grown into me. A perfect compromise between performance, footprint and non-intrusiveness. They might not sound as good as my Pentas, but they are good enough, and blend into any environment - yet catching your eye every time, from any direction.

I would pick the Beolab 5.  The 6000 and 8000 are nice but the sound is compromised.  The 5 is not.

Are we sure the Beosound 8 is David's work?  It seems more of a Torsten Valeur design to me?

    Hi Robert,

I think the Penta were designed by Gideon and Lone Lindinger-Lowy, not by David Lewis.

    Re: Favorite David Lewis design

I always liked the AV 9000, Beosound Overture, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000 combo. The Beosound 9000 is another favorite. David Lewis designed many B&O icons during his career. Sound wise the Beolab 5 is on top. The design took time to get use to.

Yes -both the Penta's and the Beovox/Beolab 3000/4500/5000 was designed by Gideon and Lone Lindinger-Lowy. A pity that they didn't do more work for B&O.
