    3D and System 3

Hello All . I’ve got a Cinema with a BeoSystem 3 , Stuart 2.25 Mt. Screen and Samsung 800 projector ( no TV connected ) and can’t seam to get a definitive answer , “ will the mk1 BeoSystem 3 will handle a 3D feed “ ? If not could my System 3 be upgraded , I presume the latest System 3 will as it’s fitted in the latest 3D Tv’s . Been waiting for the new Samsung 3D SP-A800 projector that was supposed to be launched some time ago , but again no one knows what’s happened to it and I seam to be waiting forever . Don’t think it matters what make it is as long as it’s the best picture , Sony and JVC seam to get good reviews , dose any one have experience of these or others ? Richard

Hi,The old Bs 3 cannot be upgraded to the Newer 3D spec's to costley so have to get  new 3d box.

As for projectors,Sony can suffer from crosstalk, slow refresh rate on the glasses.

I have a Jvc HD 1 Projector (non3d) but the new Jvc 3D JVC DLA-X3 pj are on the 2nd jen which have great reviews.

Also check out the new Panasonic 3D pj,PT-AT5000 fab pic no crosstalk 480hz glasses.

And Optoma HD33 1080p for cost!

    Bv7-55 & Bv7-32...Blue,lab1's x4,Yes4Blue, 6000x4Blue,Beocom6000 Blue,Beo5.Oh what a Blue set-up & a Beosound 5...After all,its Bang&Olufsen!

My dealer says the same as you , System 3 has to be replaced , cost £6750 + £3000 for a middle priced projector . Bit heavy just to drive the speakers , might as well buy the cheapest Tv that has the 3D system 3 in it although I don’t’ need a TV as it a dedicated cinema room . An alternative is to add a 3D projector , bypass the existing System 3 and try and find a way to drive the sound . Richard

    Re: 3D and System 3

    Hello,

I use the JVC X9 and bypass the Beosystem. I use a HDMI-Splitter. One way goes to the beamer the other to the Beosystem. For setup reasons I have connected a PC-Monitor to the BeoSystem as I don't use a TV.

    Hi hfat .

That was my thought , to have a parallel 3D system . Another thought I had was that if I swapped the Projector for a 3D one and feed a normal Blu-ray DVD throu my existing BeoSystem 3 would that work as it dose now , including sound . If so I could then run a buy-pass HDMI just for 3D and program a Beo5 to control the player if needed but once the film is running the only thing I would adjust is the volume and don't' need an on screen display for that .

    Re: 3D and System 3

I think it depends on the format outputed by the player.

Just have a look at http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/39995.aspx

    Re: 3D and System 3

The set-up I have in mind is to HDMI the 3D played to the Projector direct and a second HDMI ( using a splitter if the player only has one HDMI out ) to the BeoSystem 3 . My concern is that I might get a sound synchronization problem and don’t know if the BeoSystem 3 and be adjusted to match the screen . Have tried my 3D player ( Samsung ) with a 2D Blu-ray disc and plays no problem , but the player wont output 3D because a screen message say “ No 3D projector detected “ , so until I put a 3D projector in I wont know if there is any sound problems . Any thoughts Confused ? Richard

    Re: 3D and System 3

I think there is a possibilty to setup a sound delay in the service menu. In my case I did not need to adjust anything.

Hi hfat . I thought I read somewhere on here that a delay can be set . Going to see a JVC set-up tomorrow in Cambridge ,  would like to view some other makes if I can find dealers with demo rooms not to far away . Richard
