I have had my Beocenter 7700 since around 1985 and about 5 years ago had it fully serviced but I have not used it much since. The tape and radio are working fine and the sound quality of records seems to be as good as ever. However, behind the reproduction there is quite an intrusive rumble; I have altered the weighting of the arm and position of the weight but this has made no difference. Does anyone have any ideas as I really want to start using it again?
Thanks
Richard
Welcome to Beoworld !
Have you losened the transport screws ?
Martin
Thanks, Martin. Good thinking but I have done this.
Is the Beocenter level ?Is the rumble audible physically from the deck or only from the speakers ?
The Beocenter is level and the rumble is audible only through the speakers.
If you place a couple of fingers on the platter, is it free to bounce up and down andsideways ?And are you sure, that the rumble is only present when playing the turntable, not on any other source ?
Yes it is free.
Not sure about other sources. It seems to be coming through the needle but the actual sound reproduction is very clear, it's just the rumble in the background that is the problem.
Hmm..Is it with all records ?Is the record lying flat and nice on the platter or does it bind in the center hole ?
