Which system to choose, please advise

    Hello friends,

I have a dilemma and I realy need of your experience and advise. I own Beocord 2400 and Beogram 2402. Now I have a chance to buy Beomaster 2400...But I like also Beocenter 7700 and also have a chance to buy.

My intention is to connect BeoVox P45 to one of these combinations, currently connected to my BeoCenter 9500 Embarrassed

So please advise me which system to buy-Beomaster 2400 or Beocenter 7700? Any opinion about sound, quality, performance, ect.

    Thanks!

Re: Which system to choose, please advise

The 7700 has a wonderful amp & would be my choice, but as you already own the rest of the system the 2400 has a certain appeal in that you would complete the set.

All of the flat separates systems look wonderful when laid out whereas the 7700 would take up half the space which is deal breaker for someone (like me) who has limited space.

    Chris.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

Thank you Chris, but...if I like to put one of the systems at one room (bedroom) and another one at another (living room)? Is it worth to buy both? This will complete my whishes, I hope Smile Which speakers will be the best match to Beomaster 2400? I would like to use P45 with BC7700, hanged on the wall

    Hi Mitko,

I was never very good at arithmetic, but if you buy a BC7700 and a BM 2400 and have a BC9500 already, you may need 3 pairs of loudspeakers!

I currently use a pair of P45s with a 9500 and I think they work really well together in a smallish room (25sq mtrs)   I did have a BM 2400 and used that with my S45.2s, and that combination also sounded good in a similar sized room.

The BC7700 has a really good tuner/amp - very much a mini BM8000 - as well as a good turntable and cassette deck and it is easily good enough to use with quite revealing and accurate speakers such as a pair of S120's (as well as being the right vintage).

The Beocenter 7700 is a better unit than a Beomaster 2400, as being said the 7700 owes much of it's internal structure to the Beomaster 8000 (or 6000/4400/5000, same output stage configuration) and Beocord 8004. Go for both the 2400 and the 7700!

Beocenter 9300, Beogam CD50, Beocord 5500, Beomaster 3400, Beomaster 4400, 2 Beogram 4000, Beomaster 8000, 2 beogram 8002, Beovox S-75, Beovox MS150.2, Beovox RL6000, Beovox S-35, Beomaster 6000, 2 Beocord 9000, Beocord 8004, Beocord 5000, Form 1, 2x Beolink 1000, Beo4, MX3500, LS4500. Thanks Cleve for your comment! But I have already 3 pairs of speakers and just wondering whether my BC9500 will work with CX 100 as good as with P45? Do you have such experience? When I connected CX 100 to Beosystem 5500 they sounds great, just bass is a little bit "thin". It was just to check how they work. Otherwise my BC 5500 is connected with BV Penta...fantastic sound Whistle, clean, crisp and exact highs, adequate middles, very responsive and accurate, and good enough bass, just what I need as a bass.

I started this post because I'm not sure how P45 will sound with BC7700? Is it worth to connect both and I'm not sure if the amp of 7700 have more power than P45 needs.

A lot of questions, isn't it? I have made a small experiment-I connected BM 3000-2 with S 45-2 and they sounds great! There is no even small sign of distortion in very high volume levels (max!!!). I was really surprised how clean sound BM 3000-2 and S45-2 produce.

So to finalize to your post-probably I'll need only of 1 pair of speakers-for BM 2400 and wondering which will be the best match?

    That sounds good (litterally)!

The S-45's are a good fit for the Beomaster 2400. I have a system set up with a Beomaster 3300(very similar to the 2400) with Beovox S-35's, working very well and they come cheap Smile

The CX100's are fine speakers, but as you said, a little bass-lacking.

    Mitko,

I have used both P45s and CX100s with my 9500, and the P45s are, in my opinion, by far the better speaker.  ( I use my CXs in the kitchen now, connected to the Speaker 2 outlets on my Beomaster 8000!)

As far as using the P45s with the 7700, they should sound very good indeed.
