    The Unboxing Topic

    Hi beofriends,

Would you like to share with us some photos of when you unbox your new B&O stuffs?

I'm a big fan of such unboxing topics, and you?

    Cheers,

PS: I'll post some unboxing pics when I'm delivered of my new black BL9 on friday.

    Hi,

Don't know what you mean by new type of fetish, but this topic is just, as some people do it with their Apple stuffs or luxury watches, to share some happy moments....

Why not doing so for our B&O stuffs?

Why not doing so for our B&O stuffs?

As a) B&O products are generally unboxed by your dealer and taken away and, even more strking, that b) B&O boxes are very boring! You get a simple brown box.

I have zero idea why anyone wants to see unboxing photos, even for brand new products. The only time it's even slightly appropriate is when someone is the FIRST to receive a brand new product and the unboxing process is really just an extension of showing off the product itself.

A good example would be the brand new Nokia Lumia 800 or the forthcoming iPad 3. Unboxing photos go live as an extended contrived version of showing people the product and what you get in the box.

No point showing us unboxing images of OLD B&O stuff we've all seen been taken out of a plain old brown box.

    Re: The Unboxing Topic

    Hi guys,

I think you didn't understand the goal of such a topic.

What I want we share together is the happiness we feel when being delivered of a new B&O product.

There are millions of these photo reviews on the web.

Some people show their new cell the others their new computer or new watch....

Forget this topic if you think it's stupid.

    KingOfSnake,

Isn't it more fun to open X-mas presents when not alone ?

I can't see that having a cheering crowd watching you unpack a new and dear investment is
any stranger than driving 800Km in tough weather to pick up an empty radio cabinet that will
most likely never be complete and then go and tell about it here.
It's all different ways of enjoying B&O products, I suppose. You have your own, I'm sure. Wink

Yeah, but generally only when it's a product we've not seen before or when you're one of the first to receive it :) I couldn't care less to see unboxing of a BL3, BS5 or BS8. What's to see?

What I wouldn't mind seeing is how these devices fit in to someone's home!

As long as the posts are on topic and obey the forum guidelines (and hopefully general courtesy as well), it is up to the posters to decide what they wish to post, not for the readers. Skip it if you're not interested - the forum nicely tells everybody how often a thread has been viewed, and uninteresting topics will quickly fall out of view.

As far as I can see this topic is where it belongs to, unlike some other threads which make me double check which forum I'm actually on.

EDIT: There's also the "stars" feature (visible on the left at the beginning of any thread) that could see more use - instead of wasting your time composing clever insults or compliments, you can rate a thread with a single click Big Smile

    very nice Michael !

good to see the BS8 proudly in situ at the end of its long journey

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for sharing this BS8 unboxing!

Photobucket seems to be your friend now!

You can choose larger photo sizes from PB, not 1024x768 that aren't easily visible in the forum, but 640x480 are small enough so that you don't have to scroll the page to see the full picture.

    Cheers,

I quite like to see the picture threads, even of "unboxing". I don't know why the B&O resellers (excluding Lee of course) have to be so rude when posting on this forum, after all they could be upsetting potential customers!

I get excited opening anything from B&O new or old - grief even the tiny box with a powerlink connector was great - sadly I have thrown it away now (the box not the connector) otherwise I could have posted a picture of  it.

Instead here is an unboxing picture of my beoworld prize draw 1st prize...

Beoworld is really starting to get nasty, so much useless bickering going on.

I love the unboxing threads.  I love seeing everyone's new or old pieces in their homes.  I love seeing Martin's latest 1960s (or earlier find).  Heck, my favorite thread ever may be Mika's moving thread.

I didn't think a single person would be interested in my slapping together some spare lumber to make a Beosystem stand out in my garage.  But I took a few pictures and posted them anyway.  It's my way of saying, "Hey, guys, here's what I'm up to these days."

What keeps me coming back to the site (nearly every day since March or so), is to read other threads that are essentially saying the same thing.  It's also why I periodically post to the "What's playing right now" thread.  I would guess it's why Eugene started the "What are you working on right now" thread.

As to the bickering...I have never understood why anyone would waste their time being negative on an internet forum.  There has to be some better way to spend your time.

    Current primary listening:  SMMC20EN -> BG4002 -> BM4000 -> Beovox M70
