Beocenter 7002 - can anyone help, please? Speaker connections.

    Hi

I'm a (very) new B&O user having just picked up a Beocenter 7002 I snapped up on eBay on Sunday. It's in good working condition (apart from the tape deck probably needing new belts). My question is about speakers and connections though (as it didn't come with any):

    • The connections at the back of the Beocenter have the B&O 3-pin DIN sockets. Can I just use normal 2-pin DIN plugs (like these http://www.maplin.co.uk/2-pin-din-plug-935?c=so&u=strat15) or will I have to source 3-pin DIN plugs?
    • I presume I can use any brand of passive speakers with this system, and not just B&O ones (they orginally came with Beovox S80s i think)?

I've tried searching the forums and Google didn't help, but apologies if this has been asked before.

    Many thanks,

    Matt

    Normal 2-pin plugs are fine.

The third connection in the socket is the data signal for the link room system, which you don't need.

Ah, I thought it was something like that. Thank you very much.

Oops, I just noticed that I overlooked your second question. Any passive speakers with at least 4 ohms impedance (practically all of them) will do.

The 7002 is a fine system, enjoy it Smile
