    Beocentre 2500 and beolink 5000

    Hi everybody,

Today I got a used beolink 5000. I am trying to connect it to beocentre 2500 but it says no contact. Is there anyway to enable 2 way communication on beocentre 2500.

Also somebody please tell me how to set the clock on beocentre 2500.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    With regards

    Faisal

Hi, I have not used these units, but the quick research I did on the Beoworld product site says they should work.

    Three suggestions:

    1. check the remote's batteries are new
    2. check the remote is sending a signal by looking at it through a digital camera's view finder - you should be able to see the infrared signals flashing when you press the buttons (and the battery is working Laughing)
    3. upgrade your membership of Beoworld so you can download the manuals
That's all I can do ... unless someone with your configuration reads this over the weekend and gives you a better answer

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Re: Beocentre 2500 and beolink 5000

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. It works in the 1 way communication like a Beo-4. But doesn't work in 2 way. I don't know if the problem is with remote or beocenter. Works perfectly like a beolink 1000, only when i enable 2 way it says no contact. I don't know if I have to enable the 2 way in the Beocenter.

Thanks for suggesting to upgrade my membership, I am already a silver member and have been with beoworld right from 2003. I have downloaded the manual for both beocenter and beolink 5000, but nothing seems to be working of all the permutations that I have tried. Lets hope somebody who knows about the 2 way communications can help me.

    Peter are you there ????

Re: Beocentre 2500 and beolink 5000

Do you have a plasma TV nearby?  They can cause interference with the Beocenter & remote's IR signals.

    Thanks for the reply.

I don't have a plasma TV nearby. But I do have an LCD TV nearby.

    Will it make a difference?

    With regards

Re: Beocentre 2500 and beolink 5000

For the heck of it I'd bring the Beocenter into a room with no TV and try the BL 5000 there.  'Assume you've put fresh batteries in the remote.

    Try this from another thread

Just press "•" for stand-by mode on remote
press "Shift" (backside) then "Menu" (front)
Display show: "Terminal setup" press "Play"
Display show: "Video two way" use up/down for one-way then press "Play"
Display show: "Audio two way" use up/down for one-way then press "Play"
Display show: "Terminal accept" then press "Play"
    Display show: "Std.by"

    B&O item 1, B&O item 2, B&O item 3,...................B&O item 735

    Beovirus? What's that?

On the Beolink 5000, press 'Programme' on the rear set of keys.  The screen now shows 'Timer Record?'  Using the down arrow key on the inner set of keys set in a circle, press until you get the option 'set clock?'.  You can then key in the time, press 'play' and then you can set the date and year in sequence in the same way.

Re: Beocentre 2500 and beolink 5000

Wasn't there a one-way model of the Beocenter 2500 just like the Beocenter 2300? A Beocenter 2300 with two-way communication has a little IR "window" under the left glass panel, the one-way model hasn't. Could this be the case with your Beocenter 2500, Faisal? Hmm

I was borned with a Beolink 1000 in my hand!

    Thanks for the replies

Could be the case. But I thought all 2500's were 2 way. What IR window should i look at?

    With regards

Re: Beocentre 2500 and beolink 5000

Just saw, that Beocenter 2500 was produced from 1991 to 1993, and that Beocenter 2300 was produced from 1991 to 1999, so I think you are right about, that all Beocenter 2500 has 2-way communication.

All BeoCenter 2500 have two-way. Even the first Ouvertures have two-way communication! But you might have a defective BeoLink 5000, it happens more often. To repair it you need to replace some capacitors.......

I am also trying to get a MCP 5500. Maybe then we may be able to check the 2way communications . Does anybody has any experience wrt to using mcp 5500 with beocenter 2500 . Does it work?

Please do suggest if it's possible?

    With regards

I'm pretty sure the two aren't compatible.

Re: Beocentre 2500 and beolink 5000

    Two ideas:

    - Was the Option mode 1 set on the BC2500?

    - On the BL7000, you must select the components before use. I'm not familiar with the BL5000, but it's possible, that the remote and the center were not synchronised yet, and that can cause a "No contact" problem.
