    I have dreamed to do the same thing with my CDX and CDX2 when they were connected to my two 8000 systems but I never have had the time and patience to do that.
    It would be interesting to have some photos to see how you have made the mounting of the wooden frame.

    I'd also be very interested in seeing more details - I have a 6000 system and CDX which I would like to do the same to!

    I agree with both comments. 

    I have often thought about trying to do something similar with my CDX using some old Rosewood front and side panels from a Beogram 1700.
