    Beovision LX5500 - Link

I have a beovision LX5500 and an LX4500.  The LX4500 works perfectly wiht my link setup (I can play radio, CD or A-tape from my overture).  However, the LX5500 does not even switch on when I press radio, cd or a.tape on the beo4 or 1000.  Is there something I need to do first to get the LX 5500 to "link" in the same way as the LX4500 does?

I guess it is set to the wrong option. Doing this from memory, but I think it needs to be option 2.6 and at a guess yours is set to 2.5 which will ignore audio commands.

    Peter,

Thanks for your reply. Is this an option that's selectable by the end user? Or, are you referring to an option that may have been available when the TV was originally purchased?

You can set it with a Beolink 1000. I can't remember if you need 2.6 or just 6 though so will have to check! Essentially with the set in stand by, press Picture, 2, Store, 6, Store. The red light should flash and then if I am correct, the set should work!! It obviously will need attaching to the link system via the 7 pin DIN Aux socket.

    Peter,
Thank you thank you. 2.6 worked perfectly.
On the LX4500, the "Sat" button calls the Sky box that's attached to the Avant downstairs and the V.tape button call the VCR that's in the Avant.  How can I programme the LX550 to do this?  I can't find anything in the manual.

    Re: Beovision LX5500 - Link

It probably is but the link frequency may be different! Your Avant will be sending the signal and at a guess the LX is controlling the box but the channel used for the device that you are calling up is not the correct one. Usually the Avant uses a Link Frequency of 599. It depends what the Tape and Sat are receiving on the LX as to whether you get a picture. I cannot remember which channel is which as the LX5500 is not a set I have had! The channels are usually 61,62,63,64 etc. You need to either:

    1. Download the Product Configuration Guide from here - you will need to be a Silver or Gold member.

    2. Get your dealer to run off a copy of the configuration for your system and it will give you the set up instructions. I would do this for you but I have a Mac and the software doesn't work!!! Windows only.

That will explain how to tune the channels in and which ones to do.

    Re: Beovision LX5500 - Link

Tried to download this as I would like to link my MX 7000 and LX 6000, I have updated my Adobe to 8.1 but the download appears corrupted?

    Kind regards

    Re: Beovision LX5500 - Link

On MX5500 it's channels 50,51,52,53 and 54, check that the scart connection is set to none

On mx6-7000 it's 60,61,62,63 and 64 and option 5 or 6 if you have audio also, but if it's the mx6000 that you want to link up to the mx7000 you need a VCR to make the link signal.
