I still don't understand why they are using another name just because they are bringing out 'cheaper made' but still costly equipment? It's kind of shallow and pretentious which is what the brand has really become over the past few years... Hmmm i'm not sold

I am not sure how you can form an opinion on something until you have seen, heard and felt the new range, Tue keeps calling it a sub brand however the products that come to Market are not sub standard or over priced. You will be amazed at the new and fresh products.

Cannot wait for my new headphones!

Maybe they will rename the existing line as "B&O Invest" ...

Play to me connotates ... a sense to lightness, freedom, transportability, etc which may be what the intent is

Or perhaps "play" is simply trying to leverage the currency that Apple's "Airplay" is creating ?

For me  - non native speaker - play = toys = kids

Ah! Well, "play" has worked fine for Cdg. I hope it goes well for B&O to. I think it's a good idea to have a separate name for the sub-brand.

I think we can agree that the old saying was "B&O... pray" !!

I'm loving the shake up B&O is getting.  Something is actually being done - that's the point.  If you don't like it, well - frankly, sorry but change needed to happen.  Tue Mantoni has inserted a rocket up the @ss of Bang & Olufsen as a company and lit the blue touchpaper.  

If it works, he's a hero - if it doesn't, he'll have my total respect for sticking his neck on the line and giving it his best shot.

and what do we know about kids' toys ?

- they are easily obsoleted (Powerrangers becomes ..., My little pony is replaced by ...)

- they are relatively inexpensive  ( compared to big boys toys )

- we replace them frequently

So that seems to fit the Gen-Y brand

Apart from number 2 that applies to just about everything doesn't it.(except my wife if she's reading)

And just how did that new name work out for NetFlix? In the current state of the economy the brand should be consolidated and set forth, not split apart.
