    BV 7-55 3D Panel?

    Hey,

I read on several news pages, that the panel of the BV 7-55 3D comes from Samsung.

    The specs are:

    6ms

    500 cd/m2

    4000:1

These sound like specs of a Professional LED Large Format Display. I could not find any current Samsung panel with that specs, only one from NEC.

These large Format Panels are prices between 4000-6000€. Adding a BeoSystem 3 for about 6000€ makes the BV 7-55 3D for about 10.000€ a great deal?

Does anybody have further information about the panel? Thanks a lot!

Right. The LCD panel is manufactured by Samsung (type LTA550HQ10 or LCD-55 HQ-10-M01)

Just because it is manufactured by Samsung it does not mean that they use the same screen in any of their current models. Samsung's contract manufacturing is much bigger than their OEM business

I was told it was a Sharp!

A Beovision 10-40 in black and red fret on order, Beo4, Beo6, many A8's, a pair of white and yellow Form 2's, Beocom 4, 28 inch Avant RF DVD, Apple TV and a wife that loves this stuff as much as i do!

It is a Samsung panel, and for the time being it seems to be too expensive for their own line-up. However, there is one other user of this panel.

Which makes the picture quality of the 7-55 pretty unique right now.

    Re: BV 7-55 3D Panel?

In 2008 Samsung manufactued the LA55A950 TV which, from what I can gather, was only available in certain markets. It used a locally dimmable panel. Shortly afterwards all Samsung LED backlit TV's used the edgelighting method instead, presumably cheaper to manufacture.

I assume the BV7 is based around the earlier LA55A950 panel.

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.
