    Contorl comcast dcx 3200-m

    Hi everyone!

Can anyone control Comcast Motorola cable box dcx3200-m by Beo 5/6?

Couldn't find any information so far.

If anyone has XML file for DCX3200, it would be appriciate.

I almost done my beo 6 configuration by myself except comcast box.

    Thanks.

Whilst I don't have an XML file for the Motorola DCX3200, I did some research on the web and found some Pronto HEX codes which I have converted and made a test XML file. The XML file only has three commands EXIT, GUIDE and ENTER, but if they work on your box I am sure we can find some more.

You can down load the file for test HERE

However, nothing come up in "EDIT" menu and couldn't made physical connection in "choose product" menu.

    Please advice.

    Thank you.

The XML file needs to be in the sub-directory "Thirdparties" and if you extract the XML file from the ZIP file to C:\ it will automatically be placed into the correct B&O Configuration Directory.

Once the XML file is in the correct directory go to the PRODUCT section and click the TAB called OTHER and you should see it. Now just drag-n-drop it from the list on the left to your configuration. Note, you must have at least one B&O product in your configuration, even if you don't have or use that product.

Thank you for your kindness advice.

I was wrong. I extract XML files in the "My document" folder, not C://.

I can see come up "Motorola DCX3200 Test" with three button "ENTER",GUIDE", "EXIT"

Let you know it works or not later I'm in the office.

    Thank you so much Keith.

To produce the XML file, I found a forum posting with Hex Pronto codes which I converted for you. Other than the three comands you have tested, the only other pronto codes were the digits 0-9.

Unless you can find more Pronto codes on the web somewhere, the only way to progress this is to get the original remote and capture the codes.

    Dear Keith.

    I have question.

I heard that DCX3200 pronto code works with old DCT 6200.

Than I founded ccf files from 'remotecentral' website.

Is it possible to make ccf file to xml file?

    (Sorry for my poor knowledge.)

I can give you ccf file for DCT 6200 (I was downloaded form 'remotecentral" web site.)

    Please advice.

    Thank you.

I have seen the same forum entry as you about the DCT 6200 using the same IR codes, however I cannot convert a ccf file.

I can only convert Pronto HEX files which are in the form of

    0000 006A 0000 0002 0000 00B0 0000 0016 0000 0016 0000 0017 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0016 0000 0016 0000 0017 0000 0042 0000 0016 0000 0016 0000 0042 0000 0016 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0016 0000 0016 0000 0016 0000 0017 0000 0042 0000 0016 0000 0016 0000 0017 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0042 0000 0016 0000 05D4 0000 0058 0000 0E50

    Keith Saunders:

     Hi Keith,

I'm not trying to make extra work for you but if you download and install CCF Tools from remotecentral, you can save a CCF from remotecentral (or wherever) and you can run it through "CCF Decompiler" and it will give you an XML file and you will find all the hex codes in there. You can then either re-write/re-format/alter the XML file or copy & paste the codes to your XML file. I hope that is something you may find useful, if you weren't already aware of that.

I'm running Windows Vista 32 and installed it with Windows XPsp2 compatibility and as Administrator. I ran it with the same configuration and it works on my machine. On installation it doesn't seem to place a link on the desktop or any links in the start menue, you have to go to C:Programs Files/CCF Tools to run any of the tools

    Dear Keith.

I got lintronic box finally!! (I bought 20% d/c year end sale!!)

I was copied my comcast box and other non b&o stuff.

But I still need your help.

Could you let me know how can I put on the channel menu in the comcast xml file? (channel logo display fuction)

    I tried just copied number code in the property menu of CTtool (For example, channel 812) I copied following codes and added channel logo 8  -> 119c 1178 0249...., 1 -> 119c 117b 0247...., 2 -> 119d 1178 0249...

But it didn't work I think these IR signal can't reconize at the same time.

I uploaded comcast xml file at the BEO5 resource and information center. (http://195.173.140.100/Beoworld/Beo5WebSite/Downloads.htm)

    Please advice.

    Re: Contorl comcast dcx 3200-m

Attached is an xml file that I created for my motorola dvr...  I created it for my old one (don't recall the model number), but it works with my current one dcx3400.  Maybe this will work with your dcx3200.

I always intended to upload this to Keith's Beo5 site, but thought there was an error or two with it.  However, I just used it successfully with my brand new Beo6 so either I fixed the errors (and don't recall), or the newer config tool isn't as picky as the old one(s).

    Re: Contorl comcast dcx 3200-m

Be careful with this file.  There may still be issues with it.  It seems to work with simple configurations, but a couple times I've hit a "System.SystemException:  Setup node cannot be found ... " error as I start building more complex commands (like building channel macros).

The only way I have found to "fix" this error is to go back valid configuration - periodically copy your configure folder to  safe place so you do not lose much work.  Deleting whatever I added between when it worked, and when it doesn't work doesn't seem to fix this issue.
