when I stop the cd on my century, strange sound

    Hello everybody

I have a problem with one of my beosound century.

Normally, when I stop the cd (I switch to radio for example), I hear a little "clac".

On this one, I hear several "clac" very fast (around 6).Everything works perfectly, except this strange behaviour.

Please, look at the video attached.

    Thanks for your help

    Best regards

    In my opinion this happens:

    1) The switch to radio force the cd player to stop moving the transport to the start position

    2) the start position is not detected by the servo system then the transopr motor still continue to move forcing the mech gears to "jump".

If this is the fault it must happens in every action that require the transport to be positioned to start position.

    Could you try ?

    let me know

    Ciao ciao

    Hi Eugenio

    Thanks for your answer.

    It happens sometimes not.

Most of the time, this sound occurs.

Every time the cd is stopped (switch to radio or power off).

I don't know if this could damage the whole system, if it is a malfunction or something that will definitely prevent the use of the cd.

I think you are right, this happens when the cd goes in start position. But why does it works not every time.

This happens after the beosound has been send by post with no damage at all during the sending.

    Best regards

    Hi Olivier

The problem must to be solved, the gears are plastic made.

I have a complete transport, I'll take a look to understand where the problem is.

    ciao ciao

Thank you very much Eugenio for your patience and your kindness.

It should be this little piece you show me in the video.

What is its function ? Even if this piece is not in its good place, it doesn't seem to prevent the use of the transport.

The motor tries to move the piece, tries several time, then it stops for security.

I think that this piece has gone up during the transportation, just a little but enough to be out of reach for the gear under.

What do you think about my theory

    Thanks again

    Hi Olivier

The little white piece is the leverage that open/close the microswitch, so the servo system knows when stop the travel motor.

I think your teory is right; you need to dismount the transport.

    sorry for the delay :)

    Hello Eugenio

PLease, don't apologize !! you are so helpfull, I can wait, no problem.

It is a beosound that I sold recently and this problem occurs just after its reception.

I asked the buyer to use it sometimes in the horizontal way, in order to help this piece to go down.

The sounds disappears totally this way and sometimes appears when the unit is on vertical.

    Will see !

Thanks again for your help Eungenio
